Just spent two nights in Bowness and had a lovely stay! This was a two night deal with evening meal included and was excellent value for money! Kind of old fashioned but really enjoyed it! The hotel receptionist was excellent and checking in / out was quick with no problems.

Room Tip: We had a room on the front which was next to the road which was quite noisy with the windows open. F...

My husband and I stayed in the Craig manor hotel in February. It was a Christmas gift from my mother. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the room was very nice. The staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast was excellent.

My husband and I wanted a two day getaway and came across a great deal on a well known deal sites. We booked two days bed and breakfast with evening dinner on the first night. When arriving at the hotel I was impressed with how it looked from outside. Check in was very swift and information needed provided. We set off for our room, it was pleasant enough with a bed big enough to get lost in, and was spacious and clean. Much to the delight of both my husband and me the hotel and quite a powerful shower. Dinner - lovely, I think we had the best seats in the restaurant, as we dined the sun was setting and the views were breathtaking. The food was lovely, what I would expect but what stood out for me was the restaurant service, two young guys and a young lady. They were all extremely well mannered and polite. Breakfast was as expected, a small buffet which was nice, again excellent service. Overall I enjoyed the stay and would stay here again.

What prevented me from giving 5 stars - although the room was very clean there was quite a lot of dog hair in one part of the room next to the sofa, I was aware the hotel is dog friendly but as an allergy sufferer this was not ideal, also unsightly when it gets on clothing. Another reason for not giving full marks is our room was right above the kitchen so we could hear all the banging of pots and dishes and chatting and whatever else was going on. This was not an issue for us as we were out and about and did not intended on staying in the room, it didn't go on late as last servings for dinner was 8.30, also it was on facing a main road and as there wasn't double glazing all traffic could be heard. If you are looking for a quiet retreat I can see how this room may be an issue.

Lastly the food is quite expensive, we had dinner included for the first night but had we not 2 courses would cost £22.50 per head, I have eaten food of a similar standard in the Copthorne Hotel and costs less than £14 for 2 courses.

Room Tip: Request a room to the rear of the hotel facing the garden and lake, avoid room 201 directly above th...

We booked into Craig Manor hotel for the Easter bank holiday and experienced a few ups and downs. The front of house receptionist is the best thing about this hotel, professional and polite. We did have a few problems with the hotel, but she sorted these without any fuss. We also found the restaurant staff top notch especially the breakfast staff. As for the rest of the staff we found them grumpy and un helpful, and if it was nt for the well mannered, friendly receptionist, we wouldnt of rated this hotel as high.

Room Tip: Room 208 is a lovely and comfy. I loved the massive comfy bed but the outside corridor can be noisey...

Stayed here on 6th/7th March on a 2 night KGB Deal. We have stayed at a few hotels on kgb deals but this hotel was far superior to any other we have stayed in. The breakfast (although buffet style) was great. We didn't have evening meals at the hotel because there are so many eating places in town (far less expensive). Over all a very very nice hotel . Will definitely be returning.

Booked a 3 night stay on one of the special offers after being recommended by friends. Great value for money, just booked B & B, but then on arrival booked in for dinner each night. We had a lovely ( if a little dated) room; the bed was so comfortable & the bathroom was lovely. Hair dryer provided & iron available on request. The view from our room was wonderful ( room 104) - just a tip, there is no lift & although only two floors, there are lots of nooks & crannies so if you have difficulty with stairs ask for a ground floor room facing the lake.
The staff were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the food was very good - all you can eat breakfast, coffee/ tea & toast. Dinner was three or four courses & the menu well thought out & varied -- do try their sticky toffee pudding, it's to die for! The bar & lounge are very comfortable. The situation is great for both Windemere & Bowness - a short stroll up or down the hill, plenty of parking spaces on site. We were sorry to leave & look forward to our next visit.

Came here for my boyfriends birthday and valentines and stayed 2 nights on a BOGOF offer...great value for money and this included breakfast both mornings. I had also requested a room at the back of the hotel, as we had stayed here previously but at the front and as it is on the main road connecting Windermere and Bowness on Windermere we found it was very noisy and had trouble sleeping due to traffic. We got our request of a back room but We were slightly dissapointed the room had no spa bath...which we were looking forward to! Overall though it was a great stay and the staff are so friendly, place is lovely and we would Definately go back!
