We go to the lakes without doubt this time of the year 9th September for my birthday and our wedding anniversary and by far this was best ever !!
Greystone Cottage was great find and as soon as we walked through the door lovely Janet the owner made us feel so welcome and comfortable in her lovely home !!! Our bedroom was very clean, cosy and the comfiest bed you could imagine !!! Our freshly cooked breakfast of whatever we wanted was delicious !!
We really can recommend this as a great place to stay and will definately will be going again soon !!!
Not only did we find a great b&b but a great friend in meeting Janet too

As soon as we met Janet and saw our room ' The Red Room' we knew we had made the right choice.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and we have not got a bad word to say. The room was clean and tidy and warm, a lovely big shower in the bathroom. We slept so well, the bed and pillows were so comfy and it was so quiet. It felt like we were at home.

The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day.

The B&B was in a great location, close to the town and close to some lovely lake views and walks.

The best part of the holiday was meeting Janet. She was so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much bother! Her local knowledge was also very helpful!. She went out and brought me some Hot Chocolate satchets as I did not drink tea or coffee and even when I broke one of her teacups and felt bad for doing so, she laughed it off and said that ' she would remember me when I came back'. ..because of it!
We felt like we had known Janet for a long time, she was so easy to talk to and so lovely in every way, we will definitely return in the near future if only to see Janet!! So thanks for everything we had a great holiday mostly down to you.

Have previously stayed at Greystone so knew what to expect. However, this time it was even better, if that is at all possible? Janet (the owner) is one of the most helpful and friendliest people I have ever met. She also cooks an amazing breakfast! The b&b is fab, full of little trinkets and treaures. The way a b&b in windermere should be. Janet always exceeds my expectations and I always feel I leave as a friend. The stay was fabulous and Janet contributed to that greatly.

If you enjoy waking up in the corporate blandness of an Hotel bedroom that could be in Darlington or Dubai or are seeking an 18 to 30 sex, drugs and rock'n'roll experience then perhaps Greystone Cottage is not for you.
On the other hand if you would like to feel you had just spent the night as a guest at your best friends’ Lakeland cottage, enjoyed a breakfast that will last you 'til teatime and wish you could move in permanently then be quick and make your reservations now before the word gets out.
This B&B is absolutely delightful.
Don't expect a minimalist bare-wall design here, this is a cottage with character and it comes complete with the warmest possible welcome.
This charming B&B has (currently) just 3 rooms. We stayed in the Red Room (named long before the 50 Shades trilogy brought such a room to prominence) and stepping through the door you feel you are coming home to a long lost friend.
The room consists of a wonderfully comfortable pine bed (guaranteeing a good night’s sleep) and complementing wardrobe and dressing table and a great en-suite with double sized shower complete with power shower. However it doesn’t stop there, the attention to detail with the room decoration together with the rest of the accommodation is the due to the enthusiasm of the proprietor Janet whose passion for seeking out individual and interesting ornaments seems to know no bounds.
A collection of wonderful nick-knacks (most with a story attached) adorn the bedrooms and the dining room and Janet will enthusiastically tell you their story and help and advise you on your days activities in The Lakes as you tuck into your full English.
There is no doubt in our minds that we will be back and have already sang the praises of this marvellous holiday destination to our friends and relatives. With love from Steve & Erica xx

Room Tip: The Red and Green Rooms are on the fist floor, the Blue Room is one floor higher.

Just came back from a four day trip to Windermere and stayed at the gorgeous Greystone cottage with my husband and our daughter and son-in-law.We have stayed there before and would never stay anywhere else.Janet makes you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. She has a great knowledge of the area which is very helpful during your stay.We love the blue room which is decorated so beautifully and the bed is so comfy and cosy with a fabulous power shower, this is our preference but all the rooms are gorgeous and are decorated with that lovely cottage feel. Archie (the lovely wee Jack Russell) is so gorgeous and greets you with such a welcome that makes you know right from the start that your stay is just going to homely and perfect .Brakfast is delicious and sets you up for the day served by Janet with a lovely welcome and an equally lovely smile on her face. The only downside is having to leave the lovely Janet and her beautiful B&B.We will be back again as we love Windermere and Gretysone Cottage.

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms but all equally lovely.
