Beautifully decorated, attention to detail! The service at Gilpin Hotel was perfectly adequate.
Would most certainly recommend a stay in their garden room with its very own hot tub !
Very clean and could not find any fault with the decor within the rooms or within the main hotel.

We booked the Spa Lodge Sunday and Monday night for our first wedding Anniversary, which we did let the hotel know this, considering the price of our stay we thought we may of had a card / bottle of fizz in our room to say welcome, which was a little disappointing, we was also greeted by the fact of no wifi working - although we were trying to switch off, I did have important client emails to deal with, and had no phone signal either. we had some issues with our blinds which the hotel fixed immediately, and unfortunately in my breakfast I found some plastic, which I showed to the waitress immediately. We had to wait to attend our afternoon tea too, as house keeping showed up and couldn't come back so we had to wait to get ready until they were finished. lovely venue, food amazing, staff very friendly. just let down by a few things.

We have been in many nice hotels (Sandy Lane, the Ritz) but this one tops them all.
Our son booked one of the Spa Lodges for our Christmas present and we were very very impressed. We had stopped at the Gilpin once before in one of the Garden Suites (which are also lovely) but the new Spa Suite/lodges are on a whole different level.
Included in your private Lodge is your own secluded private Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Sauna. The mini bar is fully stocked with a good selection of drinks. The music system is good to play your own music from your phone. The decoration is stunning and the floor to ceiling windows give you a beautiful aspect of the lakes countryside.
The Michelin starred restaurant is fantastic and the breakfast with homemade muesli and delicious Stornaway black pudding is a great start to the day.
Cannot fault this stay, the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish.

Fantastic overnight stay for part 2 of the celebrations for my significant birthday
We loved our spa lodge Hardknott it was just perfect with a cosy fire inside and a lovely hot tub outside
Great service , delicious food even though it poured down all the time we were there it wasn't spoiled
The little extras do not go amiss
I could suggest that providing a wet bag to take home swim stuff would be a good idea as we were scrabbling through our bags looking for a spare carrier bag
As fairly locals one night was ok but if you are not local 2 nights plus would best to take full advantage of everything on offer in the hotel and surrounding area

Limewood...Chewton Glen....add to that list Gilpin!
What a beautiful hotel, classy, friendly, comfortable, welcoming. The food is simply wonderful in both restaurants. They made our stay for my wife's significant birthday so special. Want to make yourself feel special? just go and stay here for a few nights. Heaven on earth!! ask for Therlmere the room we stayed in, it is simply perfect

Room tip: Therlmere - loads of space, great country view - more of a suite than a room!
