“Christmas family get together”

All in all we had a lovely stay at the cottage, fantastic location.
If i was being picky some bigger newer sofas would make it perfect for a large group of people to relax and lounge especially in bad weather when you may be stuck indoors.
The bedrooms are nicely presented and comfortable, nice clean bed linen and soft duvet,
Bathrooms were ok but a bit dated and in need of a spruce up.
I would recomend this as a nice place to stay if you do not wish to be too rural.

“Great find.”

Myself and four friends stayed her for a long weekend to celebrate my 50th Birthday. The booking process was very easy, along with communication, receiving receipts etc

The cottage was very easy to find and only about 5 minutes walk from the centre of Windermere. There are 2 parking spaces, but also plenty of parking available on the road. There is a little park just up the road from the cottage, which is handy if you have children.

There was a bottle of wine left for us which was a nice touch. We spent most of our time in the kitchen sat at the large table. We only went into the lounge for the first time on the Sunday night. We couldn't get to work the TV and so I rang my husband and he guided me through it!!

The kitchen was well equipped, with everything you needed. Perhaps a few things needed an extra clean in between guests and a couple of things were chipped, but these are only minor observations, and don't be put off by this.

We all slept very well, and it was great that we more or less had a bathroom each. Nice clean bed linen and towels were provided.

There was no garden as such, but a wooden table and chairs were at the front of the property. These could have been either re-painted or replaced with other outdoor furniture, as they were a bit tired.

We walked into Bowness twice, and walked back, which took about 20 minutes or so.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Liked best: The homely feel of the property, comfortable beds and sitting round the kitchen table! Also the location.
Liked least: Some kitchen equipment needed cleaning.

“Lovely!”
Reviewed May 21, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Stayed with a group of friends for a couple of nights. Rooms were lovely, huge king size in one room, small double in another then 2 twins, one of which was the top of the house and you needed to bend down but lovely all the same. We had a lovely break, close to bowness and also Windermere centre. The only downside was that it wasn't the cleanest place, sheets & towels all lovely and clean, let down by a sour smell from the fridge and recycle bins. Plates needed washing before use too, but it didn't put us off the cottage. All in all had a great time and would recommend the cottage. Watch the top step if you've had a drink though ;)

“Loved our stay at mylne cottage...”
Reviewed April 21, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Stayed here for a 4 day break recently and were so lucky with the weather- it was beautiful! We all loved this cottage and it was a real home from home, had everything you needed even cling film! Bedrooms were fantastic and loved that 3 were en suite and the other right beside the main bathroom. A big plus point for us was that it was beside a lovely park as we had 5 children with us so was very handy. Also within walking / scooting distance to bow ness and so handy as a base to explore local attractions. We thought the neighbours were lovely, very welcoming and Christine even recommended a lovely restaurant that was child friendly to us- great when you don't have a clue what places are like. Bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely touch and sending huge thanks to Paul as we will definitely be back. I would also have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to friends.
