Along with many thousands of others, we first heard of this place on the ITV programme "The Lakes". But somehow my wife and I managed to walk past the place without noticing it on our first visit to Windermere. But this year we made a beeline for it when we got to the town, getting there about 4.30 pm on a rainy afternoon - we were the only customers. The staff were friendly and chatty. It's a small, unpretentious kind of place, nothing fancy, and the "tea rooms" in the name says it all, but the hot drinks and the apple and cinnamon cake were good. Prices were reasonable too. We left quite happy.
