My partner and I had a really lovely stay at Braemount House, our first trip away without our baby son and the clean, cotton sheets and comfy bed made for the best sleep we have had in literally years!!!

Emma and Gregor have made a pack full of all the good places to eat and places to go and included walks in the back which was very helpful. The glass of wine on arrival was very welcome and really made it feel like the beginning of our weekend away. Ooh and the home made biscuits were yummy. The excellent breakfast HAS to be mentioned and Emma and her staff (sorry didn't get the other lady's name who was serving) really made it feel like nothing was a bother!

I did have a cold shower the first night of our stay and that was only cause I didnt turn the knob far enough (press the red button and keep turning... and then its blummin boiling haha!).

The weather during our stay was truly pants but we still had a fab time made even better by our brilliant hosts. We will definitely be back. Thank you! =)

Whisked my partner away for a surprise weekend and could not have picked better accommodation. A very warm welcome, lovely room, and a stunning breakfast. Romantically perfect for proposing to the missis (and she said yes!)

A welcome return to a hotel i've stayed in plenty of times over the years but now with new owners. Emma is the owner that you'll see and she's a very clear presence, which is nice because you get a home-from-home feeling rather than an anonymous hotel and she's really happy to have a chat and let you know about places to go and see/eat/do etc. Beautiful decor (Emma is working through the rooms giving them a vintage feel - it's already totally beautiful but will be even more contemporary-meets-vintage-chic when it's fully complete) and lovely extra touches like tea and cake on arrival (Emma, we couldn't find ANYWHERE that sells that gorgeous Farrers tea even after stopping in Kendal on the way home, help!), home-made jams for breakfast and fresh milk in the rooms. Lovely big towels in the bathroom too which is always a mark of a good place in my eyes. The guesthouse is situated on a quiet residential road about 10 mins walk from windermere and about 15 from bowness (walk down, get a taxi back only about a fiver, bit of a hill for lazy girls wearing heels on the way back), so really well situated. I think if you're anyone seeking an antidote to corporate blandness but not wanting to feel like you're sleeping in someone's spare room then this is a great solution. If i had a single point for consideration it would be to serve breakfast half an hour later on weekends (10 instead of 9.30) but then i'm a lazy bum and getting up a bit earlier meant we made the most of the day. Plus Emma was very accommodating when we turned up a bit late.

We stayed for three nights at The Braemount over the May Day Bank Holiday period for my husband's 60th birthday. We took my daughter, son in law and 18 month old grandson Dylan who was well catered for, thanks to owner Emma who has two small children of her own and was therefore aware of his needs.
Breakfast was very good - excellent quality food including freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh berries and yoghurts to begin with followed by a good choice of 'mains' and lovely bread to toast with excellent home made preserves. Emma recommended that we eat early to ensure we didn't wait too long for our breakfast to be cooked - a tip which helped a lot with Dylan. The breakfast room soon filled up on all three mornings and as all rooms were booked, space to move around to access the self service buffet was limited but manageable. The toaster was always in demand and people had to wait their turn to use it but the toast was delicious and well worth the wait.
We stayed in rooms 5 and 8, both of which were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable and had a bath with plenty of hot water as well as a shower with quality toiletries ( I recommend taking soap with you if you prefer this to body wash) and lovely thick white towels.
The rooms had trays with fresh coffee and a selection of flavoured teas with home made biscuits which were delicious. Fresh milk was available in flasks - fine for us on the first day as Emma offered it but we forgot to ask later and as we didn't want to disturb them we bought our own, but I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem if we had asked. as she had previously mentioned supplying milk for Dylan's bed time drink.
Emma and Gregor have obviously put a lot of thought into the quality and selection of food and products they offer throughout their guest house, along with the service they provide and comfort of their guests. From my personal point of view if they were to provide a lounge and make more space in the breakfast room it would be perfect.
They are excellent hosts who are more than willing to accommodate everyone's needs and I can definitely recommend a stay with them.

Me and my wife were on our honeymoon and arrived early but that was no problem and welcomed with tea and carrot cake which was lovely. Location is great and room was perfect and very modern which is what were after. Plenty of nice touches including a bottle of champagne on our 1st evening, mini eggs, fresh milk offered and great breakfast options. The breakfast was lovely. Def will recommend and would stay there again. Also to add we paid more for hotel in York but was not up to the same standard this place set.

Emma and Gregor have created what could be the perfect B&B.

We were greeted upon arrival with big smiles and kindness - we were quickly settled in and offered tea and gorgeous carrot cake. The service was wonderfully friendly and attentive without being at all fussy. We got all the info we could need and plenty of tips and advice about the local area... but that's just the start...

The rooms are very well appointed: excellent toiletries, huge fluffy towels, pristine soft sheets and uber-comfy matress, duvet and pillows. Splendidly clean with a selection of teas, fresh coffee to be brewed in the supplied caffetiere, good quality flatscreen with DVD player built in... and plenty more details besides. Everything has been thought of to make your stay superb. Including a lovely Easter egg to celebrate the holiday.

And then... there's the breakfast... Oh my! A proper chef arrives each morning to cook it - and it really shows. Over the course of 3 days we sampled the smoked salmon scrambled eggs - the smoked haddock with poached eggs - and the full English. This was in addition to the good selection of cereals and lovely fresh berries, yoghurt and toast. Simply wonderful.

Emma and Gregor really deserve every success with this venture.
Thanks for making it the perfect Easter break.

Lovely B&B with an award winning Breakfast! Cant fault it at all. Gorgeous Smoked salmon/scrambled eggs & haddock with poached eggs! Our room was clean, linen & towels in perfect order. Great location !!! only minutes from Bowness on Windermere & Windermere towns. Lovely restaurants only a stones throw. Only complaint would be that the 4 poster bed was too short for my boyfriend.
