Visited for my wife's birthday. I am an unapologetic carnivore so was really looking forward to it. I knew of the reputation for poor service so I was not surprised therefore when the numerous staff were disinterested and unattentive. When the menu includes a section called 'while you are choosing' you expect to be offered something but no. I think we were served by about 6 different staff which might explain why our main course plates remained for some 20 minutes after we had finished. Coffee supposedly comes with dessert I was charged £3 for cappuccino and got no free coffee and no explanation that my choice was not included. The smoked scotch egg was average the smoked sirloin nothing special despite the £23 I think, price tag. All in all a disappointment given we paid £100 for two and I was on soft drinks - I don't begrudge paying that money if I receive a good meal and great service this was no better than an average berni inn but a lot more expensive.
