Ruskin Lodge is a wonderful find.
The accommodation is extremely spacious, very comfortable, furnished to a high standard & immaculately presented. The views from the Lodge are a delight. The location is ideally situated for exploring the Lake District & is just a short drive to Ambleside & Windermere. There is a wonderful walk from the Lodge to Ambleside, with spectacular views over Lake Windermere. On the way there is a lovely little tea room called the Old Post Office which we recommend to stop at.
We very much look forward to visiting Ruskin Lodge again & thank the owners, Jane & Jo, for their friendly & professional manner throughout our booking.

“Outstanding!”
Reviewed July 22, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Ruskin Lodge surpassed all our expectations; the quality of the accommodation was superb; all the extras made our stay special and the bottle of prosecco and the fudge was a welcoming touch.
The location of the lodge is ideally set to reach all the amenities in the region.
If it was possible we would give the lodge and its owners care a score of 11 out 10.
Many thanks Jane and Jo for such a wonderful holiday. :)

Amazing cabin with everything you could need and more. Perfect location close to two of the biggest lakes but outside of the hustle and bustle.

“Great lodge in a great location.”

Wow, what a great place to spend Easter weekend!
It was our first stay in Ruskin Lodge. We have stayed in the Lakes on numerous occasions, at various venues, Ruskin Lodge wins hands down.
Plenty of space for us (family of four). Special touches like the prosecco and fudge greeting us as we arrived and complimentary dressing gowns were so nice to see, and totally unexpected.
Limefitt Park is situated in a great spot. So close to Windemere and yet feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. We went on some great walks which we found in the information folders in the lodge (so useful). Our children, aged 6 and 2, went pony trekking, which is provided on sight. Highly recommend it for both children and adults. The instructors were lovely.
There is a pub/restaurant on site which was very useful on the Sunday whilst the weather was being unkind to us (sidewards rain).

Thank you Jo and Jayne, you provided us with a lovely place to stay and we will be back very soon.
Kind regards,
Emma, Tim, Elliott and Matilda. xx

“Perfect relaxing break with every comfort catered for!”
Reviewed March 17, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Great location to explore The Lakes. Windemere is a great town full of eateries and independent shops. Local pubs are full of character serving traditional cask ales with real roaring fires. The onsite pub is upmarket serving everything from champagne to several gin options- it gets my vote! A great younger children's play area as well as playing fields and a separate dog field- how refreshing! The Lodge was very spacious with 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, large kitchen/lounge/diner. All the amenities you'd need for a weeks stay along with a washing machine/dryer and dishwasher. Very large outside decking area which is great for alfresco dining. The owners clearly care about their clientele given the complimentary robes and prosecco and fudge on arrival-very thoughtful! We'll be back!

Me and my family spent Christmas time at the lodge. We've stayed in lots of parks before but this one was by far the best. The lodge is very well equipped, lovely and warm. You can find everything you need for making meals etc. The site is very peaceful and friendly. The views from all sides were breathtaking and great to wake up to. Would highly recommend this lodge. The area is fantastic, and is exactly as advertised. We loved the soft and warm bath robes (they smelled really nice). We also really appreciated all the little touches. Thank you Jo and Jane for a great stay, the Prosecco, fudge and chocolates. Highly recommend for the whole family.
