I just spent a lovely 4 nights at Bank House in Penrith. The house is warm and cosy and the welcome friendly and laid back, the perfect place to come back to after a hard day's sight-seeing. The room was spotless and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, substantial and with a wide choice - I really loved the home-made bread - and there was always coffee and cake to come home to. Bank House is an easy walk into town, with its great choice of shops and restaurants. Very highly recommended. I'm coming back in June!

Room Tip: Bank House is small and intimate and all the rooms are nice.

If you find yourself needing somewhere comfortable and friendly on the fringe of the North Lakes then you won't need to look further than Bank House. And, most importantly, breakfast is spot on! It can be a little tricky to find if you're a bit careless with navigating but it's near enough to walk into town yet far enough for peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Room 1 has a splendid view over Penrith.

Excellent two night stay in Penrith. Despite a very cold weekend the room was cosy and warm. Returning from The Marmalade Festival to hot coffee and Chocolate Cake was such a bonus.

Beautifully cooked breakfast set us up for the day. The granola was delicious as was the bread. The hot breakfast choices were very good, the best we've had since our visit to Kenilworth over two years ago. Continental breakfast was quite a size; lovely ham and a selection of cheeses.

It is worth noting that the walk back from the centre of Penrith is uphill, Graham Street is rather steep, but no problem for us.

We had a superb evening meal in the Thai Cafe at the end of the Devonshire arcade; accesible from the back after the arcade closed for the night.

Returned here after first coming a few years ago. And the breakfast was just as good as I remember, beautiful and very tasty local produce. Room was very nice and quiet, which ensured an excellent night's sleep. Can;t ask for any more really.

I would highly recommend Bank House in Penrith, we stayed for 4 nights in a lovely, well lit room that had great views of Penrith and the peaks. There was plenty of cupboard and draw space to put your clothes, and the bed was really comfortable. There was a nice selection for breakfast with coffee and cake each afternoon when you returned from your day out. The owners were welcoming and very helpful when you needed it. Due to the comfortable, relaxing atmosphere it made you feel able to chat with the other guests. Penrith is in a lovely area, especially great for walkers and families. A lot of people stop here on the way to and from Scotland. We will be definitely staying there again.

We stayed there after mountain biking for the day in Keswick. We were cold and wet and on arrival were met with homemade cake and fresh coffee and a warm welcome from the ownners, bliss!
The House is a lovely old period property with large dining room and great views of penrith and surrounding hills.
the bedroom was large and very cosy with usual facilities and the breakfast was fantastic.
I would recommend the Bank House B&B to anyone wishing to spend time in the area.

Room Tip: Large period double room, nice ensuite
