This was a great afternoon/ short day walk. Lots of variety in trees and views, wit places to stop and gaze as well as picnic. I loved the discrete signs giving me the names of the trees.

Smallish car-park. Cafe rudimentary with the usual NT fare on offer of moderate value. The attraction of the water falls bring many to the site; but not for the moderately noble as stony and much climbing [steps] but still tricky. Perhaps the NT should adopt a symbol indicating level of walking ability for those with different degrees of mobility. Dare I suggest a 1 to 5* system; Aira Force I would rate 2* difficulty level.

Really enjoyed the walk although would have allowed more time if I was to do it again. Maybe give myself a whole morning to really explore because there are other walks around which are more off the beaten track and would have had some even better views - just gives me something to come back for!
If using public transport, the bus goes to the bottom of the route so it's doable using the bus and/or the Steamer on Ullswater.

We really enjoyed out stop at Aira Force. Run by National Trust, the entry is free but parking is £5 if you're not a member. There's a lovely circular walk which was quite easy to achieve with children and a lovely waterfall, along with some smaller falls, rocky areas that seem quite fun for children to play. There is a tearoom, a small shop and also a kiosk cafe that sell ice cream.
