“Lovely cottage”

We stayed here in the Easter holiday. It's a lovely spacious stylish cottage which we all loved, including the dog, as the garden was enclosed. It was great to have 2 receptions rooms and I loved the decor. The nearest pub with food was the Shepherd Inn on the way to Penrith - it didn't allow dogs but the food was fantastic.

We stayed at bluebell cottage in the half term break and had a fantastic time.
I would like to say the photos do not do this justice. I have stayed all over the lakes
and have to say this was one of my best finds. The cottage is very well equipped, the kitchen was a pleasure to cook in. The bedrooms were beautiful and not cluttered with needless ornaments. If you want to get away from the crowds then bluebell cottage ticks all the boxes.
On a personal note I would like to thank Paul the owner for sending on my 9 year old's bag with his games console etc.
Many thanks again a truly lovely cottage.

As soon as we walked in we knew this was a place we would be at home in fact that dog wanted to stay for good.
A real fire that helps your mood during those long day nights with comfortable sofa and chairs.
Very limited phone signal but ideal if you want to get away from things.
Just a pity the water heater can't fill what is a luxury bath :)

“Eden Valley idyll”

Bluebell Cottage proved the perfect base for a walking and photographic holiday in Cumbria and the North Yorkshire Dales.
Ideally situated for easy road access to the Lakes, Dales and Eden Valley, but far enough away to avoid the madding crowd, it is also only five minutes or so from the Settle/Carlisle Railway.
The cottage is ideal for walkers. Not too posh for those days arriving back in wet and muddy clothes, but well fitted out and with all the comforts of home.
We wouldn't hesitate to use it again

“Lovely cottage in great location, good base for all activities”

We (family of 4) stayed in this cottage in the May half term and had a great holiday. It was the first time that we had stayed to the east of Penrith and we were certainly not disappointed! The cottage itself is comfortably furnished and equipped to ensure that it had that 'home from home' feel and there is plenty of room to store bikes and walking boots. The cottage is within easy access of the Lakes themselves and only a 10 minute drive into Penrith where there are supermarkets etc. There is a convenience store in Langwathby (5 mins away) where you can get papers and other items and there is a fantastic pub - The Shepherds Inn, on the green there. If you are into cycling there are some great routes around Ousby, with the hills not too onerous for childrens legs and the other good thing is that there is not that much traffic on the roads in the Eden Valley as opposed to nearer to the Lakes. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday and wouldn't hesitate to book the cottage again.

“Home from Home with a view”
Reviewed January 21, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We have stayed at Bluebell Cottage a number of times and most recently during the week leading upto our wedding in the Lake District. This cottage is truly special. Feels like your own home when you are there. Comfortable, warm, cosy and amazing views of the fells out of the bedroom windows. Within easy reach of the Lakes and with some great days out to be had Bluebell Cottage provides the perfect accommodation for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Will continue to go back year on year and it played a very special part in our wedding adventure.
