The male owner was extremely welcoming & helpful, and gave great advice re. parking. Room was a single but had all the extras I've read about in the other rooms. Breakfast was brilliant - lots of quality products to choose from & the fruit choices were fresh & lots to choose from. Will definitely stay again & recommend.

We were just spending one night in Penrith, so my son could catch an early train. The rooms are small, but very cleverly arranged to ensure comfort. There were wonderful and welcoming touches -- as if the owners were attempting to meet your every need. We found fresh fruit, small chocolate bars, everything we might need to prepare tea, coffee or hot cocoa in the room. There was even a tiny fridge with water bottles that one could choose to chill. Lovely luxury bath products in the en suite as well as comfy, plush bath robes in the closet. Beds were awesome.

Convenient walk to the train station and Penrith Castle as well as a number of restaurants.

Breakfast was delicious -- wonderful fruits and yogurts to choose from as well as hot cooked breakfast of your choice -- full English or other. I had an omelette and my friend had a salmon cake. My son had the full English breakfast and we so appreciated that the owner got up early to make breakfast before the early train :)

We also appreciated the driving a fueling tips provided on our way out.

Leon and Debbie are the ultimate hosts for what has to be the most sumptuous, luxurious and exquisite experience for one's senses. Unequivocally, the whole setting and ambience competes extremely well and readily with any 5-star hotel, in which I and my family have stayed anywhere in the world. I am genuinely surprised that they ever have any vacancies. I would seriously recommend a visit and stay, at Brooklands, for absolutely no other reason than to revel in the delight of the experience.

Room Tip: All rooms are SUPERB

We recently stayed for three nights at The Brooklands, I only wish it could have been longer!
From the warm welcome we received upon our arrival, to our beautiful room, it was fantastic.
The entire house is furnished to the highest standard and spotless.
The breakfast was excellent and plentiful!
Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who added to our wonderful stay.
A visit here is must.

What a lovely place to stay. We were met by Leon on arrival and instantly felt at home as he was so welcoming. Superb room with fresh fruit, biscuits, excellent selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate etc. including all the other little touches like toothbrush and toothpaste emergency supplies, in case you had forgotten yours. How thoughtful! It was all the extra little things that showed that both Leon and Debbie think about their guests comfort. Leon also served our breakfast and again was so welcoming, the breakfast was delightful with so much to offer, you certainly wouldn't go hungry. All freshly prepared and delicious. This place certainly deserves more than 5 stars! Thank you for a lovely end to our tour of Scotland xx

Absolutely superb. Cannot fault anything about this establishment. Visited it on first leg of our coast2coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to Sunderland. Extremely welcoming. Excellent advice on where to eat at night. Breakfast out of this world. Flavoured muesli and other serials. Raspberries, Strawberries, melon, prunes, grapefruit and everything else you can think of. Fantastic full English with all the condiments. Décor beautifully chosen with granite table tops. Toiletries, coffee, tea and biscuits including a luxury chocolate speciality. Milk kept in mini fridge. If only all b and bs were of this standard all travellers would have nothing to complain about. Cannot recommend this establishment highly enough in terms of a place to stay and the hospitality offered.Do not miss this one.

We stayed at the Brooklands on route to Scotland. We took the family room and the double next door. Both were exceptionally clean, packed with extras including white company products, dressing gowns, chocolates and biscuits. The Breakfast and service were second to none for the price that we paid.
Well done to you both!
