A dog friendly pub with a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. The food was very enjoyable and the local ales were cracking! Heather, one of the managers very friendly and informed us of all the events coming up in the pub. Murphy (the dog) most enjoyed his first visit to the Cross Keys and could well become a regular.

A dog friendly pub with a warm atmosphere and friendly welcome and great sarnies! Heather, one of the managers was very welcoming and informed us about what goes on in the pub. The local ale was cracking also and - Murphy the dog most enjoyed his first visit to a pub also and could well become a regular!

Met a group of friends here before a weekend near ullswater , as handy for Penrith station and the m6. Despite being a Friday lunchtime, the pub was very quiet although cosy with a roaring log burner. Didn't find the lady behind the bar particularly friendly or welcoming although the food choice was really good. Portion sizes were large , with a good choice of imaginative sandwiches served on wooden boards and main meals including fish and chips, pies etc which were a cut above usual pub food. Worth a visit if in the area.

We recently had a night out at the Cross Keys Inn on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed, the place is lovely, great finish, great feal, real fire, cosy and very friendly. We enjoyed it so much we returned the following week for the Steak night, again really good, can't believe how good it was for just £9.95. The staff were very accommodating and enjoyed a good chat. We are going back again in two weeks - can't wait.

Booked into this restaurant after it was recommended by our guest house host! All the staff were very friendly, the choice of food good and the choices made were lovely. Very reasonable prices and would certainly go again if in the area.
