“Very pleasing”

The house is in a good location with views out of front and back, although in October we didn't sit out much due to the weather.

The rooms are all massive - the upstairs lounge is probably the same floor area as the entire downstairs of my house, while here there is still a very large bedroom next to it. It was great having 2 separate living areas for the family to use as well as the bedrooms - plenty of quiet time to ourselves between the business of our lives.

Highly recommended.

“A excellent spacious house with superp views both front & back”

We stayed at Orchard House with our son, daughter in law and two grandsons. This accommodation was ideal as my wife and I had the spacious upper bedroom, with ensuite & double aspect lounge. My son and is family had the double & twin bedrooms with family bathroom with the ground floor television set on children's programmes and sky programmes on the 1st floor television. Greystoke is a pleasant village, with good facilities and in easy reach of all of the lake district and all the spectacular passes through the high peaks. We read all the excellent reviews before we booked our holiday and have to agree with all the 5 star reviews . A really good holiday despite some chilly weather

Stayed with the wife and kids for half term and must say what a fantastic house for a family to stay in.upon arrival house was spotless and welcome pack was great plus everything explained plain and simple.superbly situated for exploring lakes and never more than a hours drive from all best sightseeing places.shop in village was great and opens early but the village pub was one of the highlights with great food and some fantastic beers on offer.would highly recommend this house to anyone and will hopefully return next year.

“Excellent holiday home. Would definitely recommend it”

Despite the damp and misty conditions that seemed to greet us every morning the house was very pleasantly situated and has every thing you could possibly want. Everything we needed was on the ground floor and we didn't need to use the upstairs area at all. The only downside was that it is not very disabled friendly. Our mother is elderly and partially disabled and the ramps and steps at the front and back could do with some hand rails for elderly people to grab onto.

Nice neighbours and the Boot & Shoe pub was excellent. Most other places were only about an hours drive away. Would definitely go again.

Liked best: Everything really and it was quiet.
Liked least: The power cut mid way through the stay. We were woken up very early morning when the power was restored and one of the televisions came on loudly

“Perfect retreat”
Reviewed February 22, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

A wonderful property in a beautiful location. The house is situated in a picturesque little village with a pub,a post office and a Church, but it is ideally situated for trips to the lakes and the small inland villages. The house has everything you need and with 2 lounges it is perfect for a large family group. I loved the sheep in the field at the back of the house and the views from the upstairs lounge window was stunning. It was quite a sight watching the race horses from the stables trotting through the village every morning. A perfect rural retreat. The owners were very amenable to deal with and any questions were quickly answered. We had a nice little welcome pack waiting for us on arrival which was a nice thoughtful touch. We would certainly return to this property and have no hesitation in recommending it .

“Excellent property in a wonderful location”
Reviewed December 31, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

A truly wonderful Christmas holiday in a beautiful house in a super location. Each morning, gorgeous views across the village to the local Church and racehorse training stables. Greystoke is a village with "everything" - a friendly local pub, a well stocked Post Office stores with helpful staff, a gorgeous church, a quaint, local village school, a swimming pool (summer only), a Manor House and Castle and friendly neighbours. Orchard House suited our family perfectly - plenty of space, lots to do and in a lovely part of the Lake District. We would certainly recommend this property and intend to visit again soon.
