Once again we found the b&b at Lowthwaite a great place to stay. We stayed for 6 nights and found our hosts and their hospitality second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and they even helped us to organise a couple of walks. The food as always was excellent and the Garden room was very comfortable and very handy for watching the wildlife, we actually saw the red squirrels this time.My wife and I would recommend Lowthwaite to anyone who wants a peacful relaxing break in the lake district.

Room Tip: Garden room has it'sown private patio

Having sampled Tine & Jim's hospitality for the first time in August 2012 we did not want to leave. We would say it is the best B&B we have ever experienced. (Just keep it to yourself or everyone will want to sample it!)
The setting in the valley is so peaceful and relaxing - a haven for birds, rabbits and red squirrels. The house, our room, Tine's fabulous food and the hospitality were excellent. Jim and Tine's willingness to impart their local knowledge to help their visitors get the best out of the District is second to none. We were made to feel like part of the family and we will be back with them as soon as we can in 2013. Many thanks to you both.

I just had to write a review for this B&B - I've travelled a lot around the world and I must say this is a brilliant place to stay, and Jim and Tine are amazing hosts - they are extremely friendly, and also knowledeable about the area for anything you want to do, whether it's walks or attractions or restaurants etc. After Tine's amazing breakfast you're set up for a great day in the Lake District. Please, if you're in the Lake District and looking for somewhere to stay, I would highly recommend you choosing here (it's also secluded, yet easily accessible from the M6). Thanks Jim and Tine, we plan to return the next time we're in the Lake District.

We have spent 3 very happy weeks staying at Lowthwaite in the past 12 months and are eagerly looking forward to being there again in 2013. We particularly enjoy Jim's knowledgeable advice about walks and Tine's delicious breakfasts. It is like staying with friends who want to make your stay perfect. The valley is peaceful and beautiful with red squirrels and buzzards and all the local birds flock to the garden to feast on Jim's treats. A great deal of thought has gone into making the rooms comfortable -the toiletries are locally sourced;a lovely range of teas etc are provided in your room and quite often there are muffins too.For us it is perfect.

This is by far the best B&B I have experienced. It has quality rooms, fittings and furnishings. Wonderfully exciting and delicious breakfasts and, if you can, it is worth sampling one of Tine's dinners - a real treat. This haven of peace and tranquillity is run by two of the most welcoming people you could ever wish to meet - they are full of helpful advice and willingly give their time to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Once visited you will wish to return - guaranteed

We stayed at the Lowthwaite for 2 nights before our wedding and it was the perfect choice. The whole experience of Lowthwaite really added to the magic of getting wed. For the first night I stayed downstairs with my partner and the room was lovely. On the second night I stayed with my bridesmaids and mum in the two rooms that over look the little patio garden. They all loved it and want to return!

I don't know where to start! When we arrived at the B&B it was dark so we didn't get the opportunity to see how beautiful our surroundings were until the next morning. It was a great surprise to hear the running water so close by.

The breakfast is incredible, Tine makes one of the best breakfast's I have ever tasted. I couldn't get enough of the spiced fruit and yogurt, scrambled eggs, muffins, home made bread, cooked veggie breakfast and jams...fresh coffee..the choices seemed endless. We sat by a window where we could see an abundance of little birds feeding and there was a red squirrel spotted on a tree just by the breakfast room!

The decor is lovely and a real treat. It makes a great difference to be surrounded with a bit of colour and some lovely furniture! The house is just as welcoming as it's hosts.

Tine and Jim were really helpful during our stay and I can safely say they're the best B&B hosts we have ever encountered. On the morning of my wedding Jim went out of his way to direct my mum to the hairdresser and lent her a parking permit to help her park in town. He later had to go out to find our photographer who had got lost. They really went above and beyond and I can't thank them enough for such a great start to a wonderful day!

A truly exceptional experience. Thank you SO much and we hope to see you again soon!
