We stayed in the B&B just over the road and this place was recommended, I concur - lovely atmosphere and some good food.

Only negative I would say is the portion size, my partner's starter could have been classed as a main and the main could have fed the two of us, that said, the waitress had nt problems with sorting out a doggy bag for us.

When we go back to Netherdene Inn we will pop back in.

Best thing is the restaurant the food is amazing rooms are a little dated but extremely clean. Perfect location for getting around the lakes, you couldn't be in a better spot! Very well priced for food and drinks. Would go back and recommend. Gets very busy for evening meals so book in advance.

Four of us visited, and three of us chose the venison whilst my wife went for duck in cherry sauce - she's not fond of potato croquettes so the restaurant were happy to provide an alternative. She was also asked how well-cooked she would like the duck which is unusual. All four meals were served quickly but very professionally and we were all extremely satisfied. Very nice decor, courteous happy waitress, real ale at the bar - nothing to fault at all. British pub food at its best.

6 of us dined here one evening, the staff were extremely helpful, each party member said their 3 course meals were fantastic and we all said how reasonably priced it was. Will definitely return when in the area again.

Dinner at the Troutbeck Inn was an absolute delight. Service was impeccable and the food was sublime. This is definitely one of the best eating venues in the area and I intend to go again at an early opportunity.

We have passed this place many times on our caravan trips to the Lakes and this weekend we were staying down the lane at the Caravan Club site, so we decided to eat here for a treat.
So glad we did.
The bar was cosy and welcoming and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was obviously fresh and of good quality and the whole meal was delicious. My son had the salmon which he said was very tasty, hubby had the seafood ragout which he said was outstanding. Well, I had the duck, which has had a few `iffy` reviews, but honestly, mine was cooked to perfection and delicious. The cherry sauce was yummy. I liked the potato croquets and the veg was different and very flavoursome.(Braised red cabbage and shallots). We had a nice Pinot Grigio, which was not overpriced, as in some hotels, and the whole meal was reasonably priced. All in all a very pleasant evening was had by all and we will definitely return.

Room Tip: Make sure you book in advance - it can get quite busy.

This is the second time I have stayed in the Troutbeck inn and I have no complaints, it's a warm and friendly welcoming place with clean rooms, the food served is at high standard including a very generous portions for breakfast.

I would return again for a third stay for sure !!!
