A 5 night stay in mid-July, our first. Spacious room (no. 4) with full large bath, all of the amenities and extras one could ask for were provided in our room. Breakfast was grand, lots of choices and made to order. Location one street removed from town square was perfect. Friendly and enthusiastic hosts Richard and Fon made us feel welcomed and could not have done more to ensure our comfort. We will definitely return to Shemara in the future!

Stayed at Shemara for 4 nights at the start of July, having stayed before. It's very conveniently placed for the centre of Keswick, 2 minutes walk, if that. Room 4 is a very good size and very comfortable. The hosts are very hospitable and work extremely hard to provide a really nice experience.

Breakfast offers a wide choice, from full English or veggie breakfast, kippers, smoked salmon, mushrooms, etc. of course, tea, coffee, toast, cereal, fruit and juice also available. You can also choose to have a delicious Thai meal in the evening, and just about manage the short distance back to your room with a very full belly!

I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Shemara, run by really nice people.

Had a great 2 night stay , central location , wonderful hosts and breakfast . The rooms were very clean and comfortable , the location is second to none . All in all a very enjoyable experience . We were down for beer festival , so it gets very busy , prior booking is essential . The breakfast was one of the best I have had . Parking is out front , and secure . Recommended .

Lovely B & B decorated to high standard, the bathroom was very clean & modern, we had a huge bed & no creeky floorboards. Our room was very comfortable with fab views of the fells. Friendly welcome & great food, especially the Thai meal. Extras like shoe cleaning products & little biscuits & chocolates made it different. Shemara is well located within walking distance of central Keswick with its great pubs & qwirky shops. We will return!

Spent two nights here in a comfortable en-suite double with great views of the fells. Very warm and friendly. Next time we come we intend to eat here. Our only criticism was that the pillows (surely a world record beckons) were far too big but they were swapped on request. Breakfast was a real treat with a proper choice including my favourite scrambled egg and smoked salmon.

We have just got back from a few days in Keswick, we did not stay at the Shemara but had the most delicious meal on our last night in the lakes. I ordered Sea Bass with veg and rice and had an entire fish on the plate. I have never eaten a fish that way before. It was delicate, fragrant and very very tasty, followed by the best apple and blackberry crumble with ice cream. Not very thai I know but fantastic all the same. If and when we go back to Keswick to stay we will book the entire visit with the Shemara. They are a lovely family and make you feel very welcome, its was as if we had known them all our lives. Thank you.

We managed to get a one night stay on a bank holiday, real bonus.
The accomodation is very clean and comfortable and we had great views of the surrounding fells, very atmospheric even in the cloud and rain.
We stayed in the guest house for a lovely home cooked authentic Thai meal to be recommended , and breakfast next morning also came with a good choice and good quality, served by the friendly staff.
