“SUPER DERWENTWATER”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

What a lovely wall you can take around Derwentwater.
If you want to start with a nice amble go via Hope Park which is good to view as well, and then stroll along the lake to Friars Crag. Even if the weather is stormy there are some fantastic views to be seen, as we were lucky enough to have the sun peep out from dark clouds creating fantastic visual display of light and dark colours and shades. From Friars Crag then stroll around to the beach side and beyond to soak up the atmosphere and sights.

“Go feed the ducks”

The National Trust operate a small shop here and if you have children you can buy bags of duck food for 50p or hire a boat.

“Beautiful boat trip”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Purchase a discounted ticket at the T&I in Keswick and take this lovely hop on hop off boat trip around Derwentwater. Hike up to Ashness gate, stop and have a wonderful meal at Lodore Falls Hotel and many other opportunities.

“Stunning scenery”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

There's nothing to dislike about Derwent Water. The scenery must be some of the best in England. Walks in the area can be kept quite easy by following footpaths around the shore line or more difficult by taking the tracks and footpaths up into the surrounding woodland and onto the mountaing ridges rewarded by fantasic views.

“Gentle and beautiful walk”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

I walked around the lake on the path away from the road and loved the peace and beautiful views across the lake. Stopped in Keswick for lunch and then took the boat back to my hotel. Love the fact I could get on and off the boat at any point to walk, sit or wonder at the beauty.
