“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

Starting at Keswick you can actually walk the whole way around this lake and the views are superb throughout. If you are feeling fit you can take in Cat Bells too. About 15 miles in total, but a lovely walk.

“Boat trip Saturday 29 June 2013”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

Went on family boat trip around the lake.
You can hop on or off at any stop. To take in the sights etc. Need to buy a round the lake ticket for this!
Very pleasant time. Bit of trouble finding where to get on the boat to start with. Brown tourist info signs of boats are the key but to the uninformed or people who have not seen the tourist leaflets - we could do with a big arrow saying boat trips this way! Went through what looked like a disused boatyard to get to our starting point.
Well worth looking for - reasonable price. They have a covered section on the boat if the weather turns nasty too.
Would recommend you wear walking boots to go - just because sometimes the paths are a bit stoney from the landing points. Would go back but would go to one of the spots and have a picnic if its nice.

“Absolutely stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Lake Derwent is stunning. I never tire of the unspoilt beauty of the lake. On my most recent trip I also visited Lake Windermere. There is no comparison. Lake Windermere is incredibly touristy, and in places tacky, whereas Lake Derwent is peaceful and memorable. I can't wait to go back.
