“Excellent 4th Visit - Fantastic B&B”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

If you want to stay in a fantastic B&B then look no further than Oakthwaite House. This was our 4th year and we will be back next year. Both David and Karen are perfect hosts, rooms always immaculately clean and fresh, with excellent quality bed linen, towels and tea & coffee facilities. The little chocolates on your pillow are just a lovely thoughtful little extra.

We always stay in room 2, which is a beautiful modern large room with a superking size bed.
Breakfasts are excellent and I personally look forward each year to my Granola and Dean his full breakfast with only the best local produce.

Thanks again to David and Karen for a truly wonderful weekend, see you next year.

Once again another superb visit. Even more items on the breakfast menu! Everything was perfect as always. Two nights isn't long enough!

David and Karen are amazing. Breakfast was superb (especially the wonderful locally sourced sausages). Rooms where pristine and have all those little touches that make staying here special. The most important part of this bed and breakfast is the fact that David and Karen are perfect hosts, felt so welcome and really did not want to leave.

David & Karen are the perfect hosts and their B&B is a credit to them. Fresh and modern and immaculately clean, this B&B keeps us coming back for more. Ideally situated in the back streets where there is ample parking and zero noise, although short walk to the centre. The rooms are gorgeously decorated and bathroom has great modern lighting (very important for us ladies!) and good storage. The breakfasts are sooooo good, made to perfection and to your request. David is so knowledgeable on all the walks and his advice on Scafell pike was very useful indeed. We will definitely be back, a happy place to stay.

Room Tip: Room 5 is a big dorma and on the top floor so zero noise from above.

Not usually given to returning to the same B&B this was our third visit in less than a year. We felt like family when David welcomed us at the front door, still insistent on carrying our bags up to our room. Room 5 this time. Large, comfortable with views and a modern ensuite. We really like it here, it feels like home and we have already booked for the summer.
