Was a little disappointed with this little place. The parking was very expensive (you do get some of your parking money back inside the museum though), and then on top of the parking fee you have to pay to get in. We wouldn't have minded if we had gotten our monies worth, but we didn't. It is a very small place with lots of info about how the pencil came into being, and there are some lovely displays in there, but that was about it. We were in and out in about 20 minutes.

Cute little place, but overpriced.

I visited Keswick in October 2013 as part of a Contiki tour. Most of the group went to a high ropes course and a small group of us decided to visit the pencil museum. Long story short those of us that went to the musuem had a fantastic time and could not stop raving about how awesome the place is while the high ropes guys were disappointed in their outing. A trip to Keswick is not complete without seeing this amazing musuem.

Ladies and gents, if one is visiting the quaint town of Keswick then one must simply visit the greatest attraction the town has to offer - the Pencil Museum!! A true sensory overload of riveting information and state-of-the-art displays on the history of the humble pencil. Test your gray matter with some entertaining puzzles to complete whilst wandering the charming little museum. There's even a fun little prize to be won from the oh-so-friendly and helpful staff if your pencil knowledge is top tier!!

The Pencil Museum is also home to - hold onto your hats this is a big one - the world's. biggest. pencil. Wowee!! What a true sight to behold. If it wasn't on your destination list, it surely is now. This pencil is too big to use, but one can stand and gape in awe at its imposing size. She's a real behemoth. It also has Guinness World Record recognition so you know it's a legitimate claim to fame. There's even a smaller but still big by standard pencil size pencil for you to pose with and upload to Facebook to make you the envy of all your friends. I included a photo with this review to make me the envy of all of you.

If your day at the Pencil Museum was just *that* enchanting, you can even buy a four-foot long pencil for a very modest price. I regret not buying one, but it wouldn't have fit in my luggage.

Don't delay, visit the Pencil Museum today!!

We went here with x3 young children, after hearing some great things from friends about it. Parking is a little expensive but £1.50 is redeemed off entrance fee when you take ticket in. Admission price is very reasonable, considering prices in the Lake District.

The staff made a fuss of all the kids giving them quiz to do with a gift for completing it and promising them some drawing fun at the end with them. The exhibits are full of information and don't miss the video about how the factory works and how they make the pencils it's really good.

The shop at the end is great and the colouring books etc are well priced for the children, pencils are expensive but they are high quality. The cafe is great to sit in while the children are drawing with the staff.

Enjoyed our visit to the Pencil Museum. I hadn't realised just what was involved in making pencils. Well set out - and told the history of the Pencil Factory well. The shop was also excellent and my friend and I were able to stock up with lots of art materials.
