Wonderful walk, quite taxing at places but well worth the effort. Many different people walking and all friendly.

For our first walk in Keswick we took on Catbells Lakeland Walk. Pretty steep in places and if you're not fit then it could be a struggle. Well worth the view over Keswick and Derwent Water once you're up the top. Great scenery

Had a great walk/climb up Catbell, took about an hour or so to get up, was a bit more strenuous than we had thought but the 360 degree views on top are just sublime. Descent is easier ! I think there are a few ways up and down. Need to go on a clear day to get best views. You definitely have to have 3 if not 4 points of contact to clamber the rocks near the top but take it steady and you’ll be rewarded ! One of the highlights of our trip to the lakes for sure. There’s an even higher ridge further on that you’ll see but we didn’t do that.

We had read that this was a fell for toddlers and grannies and we saw plenty examples of both on our way up. We personally found it to be fairly strenuous with a bit of tricky scrambling in parts. However the day was glorious and the wonderful views were well worth the effort involved to reach them. The only thing that slightly marred the walk were a dozen or so discarded bags of dog poo which we noticed alongside the path. Beyond understanding.
