“Outstanding views!”

a good hike with some rough clambering down - not for those with walkers! Best 360 degree view! cane be crowded on top but plenty of space to stand. Have a pee before you go, there are no trees to hide behind!

“Family walks”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Our last Catbells walk was 11 years ago. This time we came with our two walking-shy children (6 and 9 years) over the Easter holidays. Combined with a boat trip from Keswick they did really well. I'll be honest and say they didn't enjoy it all the way but the bribery of snacks, the view and the summit 'selfie' at the top got them there. The scramble part was achieved well - not too difficult at all (just make sure you're walking towards Grange, not away from as it would be trickier descending the other way). Really glad they did it.

“Superb walk with stunning views”

Very enjoyable walk with our teenagers. We were lucky with the weather and the views were amazing. The children enjoyed rock climbing in parts.

“Worth the effort”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

This walk is often described as suitable for all the family which depends on how fit your family is! There is a little bit of rock climbing involved which could be a problem for some people especially in wet, slippery conditions. On a busy weekend I overheard quite a few people say it was a bit more than they expected. Having said that the views are really worth the effort - but try and pick a decent day. We combined the walk with a boat trip around Derwentwater and it was a great day out.

“Fabulous Views over Derwentwater”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

Great walk close to the town of Keswick with an iconic peak and it is this that inspires people to walk it. However - beware - it is not a simple jaunt unless you are relatively fit. It is a pimple (at 1480 feet) compared with the higher fells but do take it seriously, and the views are well worth it.
