Small but perfectly formed. A great introduction to the best that the Lakes has to offer. Stunning views and manageable afternoon stroll with a small rocky scramble at the top .

We got the launch from Keswick to the start of this walk (walk up thru woods to right and over road). The walk is easy to navigate as you just follow the path, Catbells is the second hump so keep going. Typically with walks when you ascend it can get very windy. My son was a little nervous due to this as the last hump had a narrower path followed by a scramble/climb over rocks to the top where we were well and truely battered by the wind. A great sense of achievement without pushing the kids too far. We followed the same path back and got the return launch but you could carry on towards Borrowdale.

easy (ish) walk but the driving rain, wind and sleet didn't help. Dress correctly and have the right equipment & you shouldn't have a problem. Beautiful scenery....

Every time we come to Keswick the first walk we do is Catbells and the ridges beyond. Stunning views over Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite. Turn around and see Causey Pike. Magnificent in summer sun or winter snow.

This is a good walk for beginners and more experienced walkers alike as the views never fail to impress. The access paths are good in all directions.

There is limited road side parking so get there early.
