Mainly flat. Lovely scenery and interesting walk. Would be fantastic in sunshine.

Easy access from the launch at Keswick, Catbells is a great little fell to start on. Although children and grandma's are often seen on this walk, it does have a very steep final ascent, so don't under estimate it.

This is probably the easiest of mountain locations for the day visitor, and after the initial fairly steep walk on excellent paths, the rest of the walk is very easy, and the views are amazing over Derwent Water to Keswick, down through Borrowdale, or accross the Newlands Valley.

Got launch to Hawse End and really enjoyed the walk though didn't"t do second peak due to wind. Our 7 year old daughter really enjoyed her first taste of Lakeland walking
