“Lovely stay - very friendly hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2011

My friend and I recently stayed at this lovely hotel, about 3/4 - 1 mile from Keswick (there's a nice, but steep, woodland path into the town). Amazing views from the pretty garden - where you can sit and have a drink - or they will serve you your bar meal there if the sun shines.
Owners very friendly - upgraded us for free as they had some vacancies. Food is all veggie (and they happily cater for vegans). Nice cooked breakfasts - full veggie english or yummy pancakes.
Room we had was spacious with lovely views of Skiddaw and Derwentwater.
There's a nice lounge (with more views) and a residents and (separate) public bar where they do veggie bar meals. Food is filling and appetising - its not cordon bleu (or vert!) - but its nice - and great that you don't have to walk into Keswick to eat if you've had a hard day on the hills.
Will definitely be going back.
