“crafts and coffee!”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

Have visited these galleries many times over the years but however many times you have visited, it's always worth spending an hour or two here. There is a superb range of mainly local crafts including brilliant framed photographs, original art work, ceramics and wood items including some superbly crafted furniture. There is also a good range of cards. Prices range from a few pounds to several hundred so I think there is something for everyone. One aspect I particularly liked was that you are free to browse for as long as you like....no pressure sales tactics here!
There is also a coffee/tea shop serving delicious home made cakes etc at very reasonable prices.
Car parking is a immediately adjacent to the galleries..the car park is not over large but I have never experienced any difficulty parking there. Situated just off the A66 (there is a signpost ) to the west of Keswick, the galleries are well worth a visit whatever the weather!

“Well worth a detour”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

Having visited the Galleries some years ago, we returned wondering if our good memories would be justified. No problem, a large range of locally-produced furniture, ceramics, glass, jewellery and paintings kept us occupied for most of a wet May morning. A small coffee shop complemented the excellent displays and we had amost enjoyable conversation with the sales lady (who like us turned out to have Dalmatian dogs!)

“Fabulous selection of art and crafts - and cake”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

We are regular visitors to this part of the Lakes. We always call in because the selection of art is very much to our liking. There is a great mix - from photographs to jewellery, ceramics to oils - literally something for everyone. The coffee is great - good size cups; the toasties and cakes fab. Always a real treat to visit. Highly recommended.
