Lovely B&B, about 20 mins walk from Keswick town centre. Our room was very warm, as it was in the eaves, and could have done with a fan. But other than that, everything was perfect and would definitely stay there again.

The term 'B & B' is a brush that covers a broad area. Sometimes, it's a house with one or two bedrooms and a little old lady cooking breakfast. The Grange is at the other end of the spectrum. It looks like a manor house and has 6 or 7 bedrooms. It has a little lounge (where everything seems to be for sale), the breakfast room and a terrace.

Having said it's almost a cross between a hotel and a manor house, the staff couldn't be friendlier - we felt very welcomed. We were in room 5 (a superior) on the first floor with splendid views of the mountains and fields that make up the Lake District - it has windows on two sides so the view really is spectacular.

The room had a king size bed and en suite facilities - a shower/toilet room and oddly, the basin in the bedroom proper. The TV is dinky, but then, we weren't there to watch telly. The room was lovely and comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent. I had the full cooked breakfast on the Saturday morning (note to self, ask for no black pudding next time) and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on a muffin on Sunday - I actually highly recommend the latter - the eggs were fluffy and perfectly cooked.

The Grange is within walking distance to Keswick - and indeed, we did walk to Keswick (and got soaked, but hey, that's the weather around there).

All and all, it's a bit pricey for a B and B, but more than worth it. Practically perfect.

How great is it to visit a B&B these days and not have a reason to complain. Well thats how I feel about the Grange, My wife and I stayed for 5 days in June, We really enjoyed the stay, we felt welcome, the bed was very comfortable, it was clean the staff where friendly and nice, the breakfasts were superb, crisp laundered table clothes, great coffee, and food cooked to own preference. Tasteful decor and the place had a nice feel to it. we will definitely visit again,

We stayed two nights in this lovely guest house and it really was perfect. There is a real attention to detail. The room we chose in the eves was beautifully decorated with the most marvellous view. Excellent breakfast and attentive but informal service created just the right atmosphere. The great reviews are well deserved.

My partner and I have just retured from a weekend in the Lakes. We stayed at this hotel on the Saturday night and we couldn't fault it. It has beautiful views. Our room looked out over Catbells and was lovely and clean.

Breakfast was fab and everything was spotlessly clean.

The staff there were so helpful and accommodating.

The town is within walking distance and is full of lovely shops, bars and places to eat.

We will definitely be back again.

Thanks again!!

Michele & Mark

We read the reviews and used them as the basis for choosing The Grange for 6 days of fell walking .i It has proven to be an excellent decision. From first to last our stay was first rate. The many positive reviews are no exaggeration. Location (10minute walk from centre of Keswick) , house, gardens, views, quality and cleanliness of rooms, breakfast selection are all to be recommended. But it is the friendly atmosphere fostered by owners Sally and Mark, and the warm enthusiasm and personalities of the 'girls' Anna and Reka that have left the most lasting impression. We loved our stay. So will you.

Room Tip: Room 5 is spacious with two large windows facing south and west.

My partner and I stayed at the Grange for 1 night last weekend and we had a fantastic stay. Sally and Mark were so welcoming from the minute we arrived and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. The Grange is beautifully decorated and has amazing views. It is located near to Keswick town centre on a nice quiet road. The breakfast was perfect, just what we needed for a day on the fells.

We have had some bad experiences at other hotels in the Lake District so we were a bit apprehensive about trying another guest house, but we are very pleased to say that our stay at the Grange has restored our faith in Lake District accommodation. We will definitely be staying there again but for longer next time!

Thank you to everyone at the Grange for a lovely night away.
