This B&B has to be the best in Keswick. The rooms, location and the personal service from Stephen Mason would teach large big name hotels a lesson or two. We took two rooms as we were celebrating my brothers birthday. Its the little touches shown by Stephen that make it stand out from the rest. It had been noted that I had placed a bottle of Taittinger in the fridge for a celebration drink on the night of his birthday, and yes, Stephen provided the glasses without being asked. He also provided a box of chocolates for my brother. Nice touch.
Having private off road parking is a big bonus as the surrrounding streets are a nightmare to park.
We know all six rooms and can confirm the standard is excellent.
Thats why we return.

The reason for our trip was a triathlon with an early start on Sunday (i.e. before breakfast time). Steve did not hesitate to offer us early breakfast; cooked if we wanted it. As the room was not booked on Sunday night he kept our room open so that the shower could be used and I could change in comfort which was most welcome as the weather was hideous!
The standard of the room was wonderful and a beautiful bathroom. Everything was wonderful and I want to come back for the champagne one day! High quality linen and a great night's sleep even before the tri!

After having a shortlist of four possible places to stay I phoned Stonegarth to enquire. Stephen answered but was in the middle of a food shop but said that if I called back a bit later he would check his booking diary. I was drawn to his friendly phone manner and did indeed call back. One of his premier rooms (number 4) was duly booked for four nights.

We arrived early at 1330 and were delighted to find our room ready. It more than met expectations. Double jacuzzi bath with separate luxury shower, kingsize four poster bed and fridge that contained soft drink, water, fruit juice and fresh milk. These were replenished as need be, a nice touch. The sheets pillows and towels were of high quality and a treat to behold. A couple of wine glasses were also in the room, another thoughtful gesture.

Breakfast was superb with freestyle seating. Any request was not too much trouble and we were always asked if we wanted anything else. The breakfast room was very elegant with a lovely ceiling rose.

Lovely quiet location a mere 3 minute walk to the bustling centre of Keswick. Off road parking was a bonus. Umbrellas were on hand if the weather turned inclement.

We met a lovely couple from Taunton and this was their 15th visit to Stonegarth. That says it all!!!

My husband & I booked the premier/luxury room at Stonegarth as a treat on the final night of our last 'couples break' before our baby boy arrives in June. On arrival Stephen was really welcoming & helpful. The room was STUNNING. We've been lucky enough to stay in a number of 5 star hotels including The Langham London, & this was easily the best room we've stayed in, in the UK. King size four poster bed, gorgeous & luxurious bedding, double jacuzzi bath, tv in bathroom, double shower with body jets, L'occitane toiletries, it was a total pamper experience! We took a short stroll into town for a delicious Indian meal at a restaurant recommended by Stephen, before hurrying back to Stonegarth to make the most of the gorgeous room. After a wonderful nights sleep, breakfast the next morning was filling & tasty & we were just sorry we couldn't stay for longer. Stonegarth really is an immaculate, friendly, well run B&B, we got a great price for the room & consider it really good value for money. Would definitely recommend & return in the future. What a treat! One final point, if you like fly fishing or just want to enjoy stunning scenery, take the drive up to Watendlath trout fishery in nearby Borrowdale. Possibly the most beautiful fishing spot in the UK & I was very happy relaxing in the sun with the sheep & ducks while my husband spent a few hours fishing.

The Stonegarth Guest House was fabulous. We have stayed in loads of B&Bs, and this was one of the very best. We could not find fault with anything.

Stephen and Di are great hosts and really enjoyed looking after their guests. Our room had a four poster bed and a superb power shower. The fridge was a nice surprise - especially the fresh milk which made a great change from UHT cartons!

They also provided Wi-Fi.

Stonegarth is in a great position in Keswick. It is really close to the town centre and only a short stroll from the lake. You will be spoilt for choice with pubs, cafes and restaurants. At night, the guest house was extremely quiet.

The Lakeland breakfast was superb and really set us up for the day.

What a little gem we found in the Stonegarth Guest House. Absolutely perfect. Could not find fault with anything.

Stephen and Di offer a very warm welcome and look after your every need. Nothing is too much trouble for them - you only have to ask. Very pleasant and amiable couple.

The room we had (room 2 with kingize bed) was very comfortable and provided everything we needed. The fridge was well stocked on arrival with soft drink/water and fresh milk. T-bags/coffe even a little packet of biscuits. Thought that the biscuits were a one-off for arrival day but to my delight, they weren't! They were replenished the next morning, as was the fresh milk in the fridge. Bathroom was clean and there was even some complimentary shampoo etc.

The walk into Keswick centre literally took only a couple of minutes. At night, the guest house was extremely quiet - considering its location to the town centre. Plenty of places to eat and drink in centre.

The breakfast provided was superb - the lakeland brekkie is a deffinite must!

Cereals/muesli/yoghurt/fruit/fruit juice/toast/tea/coffee/full Lakeland brekkie - mmmmm wish I was still there eating one of those - sets you up for the day!

All in all a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful couple of days. Will certainly go back again and would not hesitate to recommend.

Thank you very much Stephen and Di for a wonderful stay.
