“Hard To Beat”
Reviewed January 29, 2012 for a stay in January 2012

We have just returned from a 2 night weekend at the Old Vic to celebrate our friend's 60th birthday. There were 12 of us all together and the house was perfect for an enjoyable get together. All the main bedrooms were on suite so there were no clashes for the bathroom. The bathrooms and all the facilities are of very high quality. The house is kiited out with a games room, board games and a good library as well as wide screen tv and dvd player. There are plenty of good walks nearby and Keswick is only a £6 taxi ride away or alternatively the bus stops just outside. The quality and location makes this property hard to beat for a get together for up to 12 people.

“Amazing ! Told everyone about this one!”
Reviewed April 27, 2011 for a stay in February 2011

This is an amazing house!
We took all the family away for the weekend, there was 11 of us! Kids ranging from 6 to 15. There was plenty of room!

The bedrooms are amazing and the views from the double at the back of the house are superb! The rooms were spotless and a few had ensuite facilities! The bedding was clean, fresh and comfortable!

There were two kitchens, one for the main house and one for the annex at the back.
The main kitchen was well equipt with utensils, plates, bin bags, cling film etc.
The kitchen had an ample sized table for late night chats!
The large dining room had a long large table for the main meals.

The living room had a lovely fire! The room itself had 3 large sofa's and a chair. Plenty of space. There were books, games etc to suit most people!
There was a games room with a pool table and also a large table tennis set. Wireless internet was available.

The weekend we arrived it was raining the whole time - however it never spoiled our holiday. The kids could play inside with the board games or in the games room. They also played a few scavenger hunts around the large gardens.
You are close to the main road but don't know it ! You feel totally secluded.
It's only a short drive to the main town. It has lovely pubs and places to eat.

Overall it was a great break and we would come back to this property again!
