My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Lakeside House and would definitely recommend it. The hotel decor is immaculate and the staff could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. In addition it is ideally located for the town or a walk around the lake.

Room Tip: Rooms on 3rd floor are a climb but view makes effort well worthwhile

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The rooms on the third floor present the finest views of the parks and mountains; soon there will be snow on 'them there hills' - even better!
Thanks again

Thank goodness I made a mistake! When booking, I mistook this B&B for another yet was delighted when I saw the standard of this lovely house. I have stayed in many Keswick establishments and those costing twice as much as Lakeside House, in my opinion, don't compare. The breakfast staff are happy, speedy but not rushed and nothing is too much trouble. Peter, it's maintained and decorated with care, attention to detail and a flair that isn't easy to find in many B&Bs. Well done - I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you to any visitor.

We stayed for 3 nights at Lakeside House, and received a warm welcome, high standards of cleanliness and a very comfortable room with a good shower which was very welcome after our walks in the Keswick area. The choice of breakfast is excellent and well thought out. It is well situated for the town centre with very good views of the mountains in the surrounding area. As walkers, we were particular grateful for the drying room facilities!!! Thank you to all the staff for helping to make our short stay enjoyable and relaxing. We will definitely return!

I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us - thank you for the positive feedback. All our rooms have great views of the fells around Keswick - and as walking in them is tempting then the boot and drying room is a godsend as you found out!

We are on our second holiday to lakeside house bb and it does not disappoint. In fact it's the best we've been to in 12 yrs of exploring the lakes!! There's a warm, welcoming reception and lovely bespoke rooms. After a long day exploring the fells a long awaited power shower and massive bed is all you need to relax. Peter and his team are great.
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR.

Room Tip: Room 1 and 3 fantastic

Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a super king size bed and fabulous views over the park and beyond. The bathroom was very small but luxuriously fitted with modern shower and shower gel and handwash provided.
The furnishings in the bedroom and all the public areas are contemporary and very stylish which gives the whole place a very classy look.
Breakfast was delicious - fresh local ingredients made for the perfect Cumbrian Grill after a good selection of fruit and cereal.

Will definitely return and try a room higher up for an even better view!

Room Tip: First floor rooms have larest windows and overlook the park. Not all rooms have a bath so check on t...

Thank you for your positive review- we are always pleased to get feedback to help us maintain our standards. As you point out our first floor rooms have large bay windows and also have seating areas to enjoy the spectacular views across to the fells at your leisure! There is not a room in the house that does not have a view however. At present all but our Family suite have en-suite showers, but we have a private bathroom available for guests on request. Thank you again.

We booked into the Lakeside House after deciding to use Keswick as the base for our 3 day jaunt round the Lake district. The Hotel was perfectly situated, with access to the town the length of a small underpass away, amazing veiws of the surrounding hills from our bedroom windows, and a very small walk to the lake...amazing! The room was spotless, nice and quiet with lots of space and light. The en-suite was cozy and modern with the best shower I've ever used. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts that ranged from different cereals and fruits to a variety of delicious fully cooked ones set us up for the day's walk ahead. I definitely recomend this lovely hotel and will stay here again next time we are in the lakes... most excellent!

We have just got back from our honeymoon at Lakeside House, we were there for 6 nights and have to say what a fantastic break we had.

We couldn't fault anything with the stay...

The room (2) was amazing, very spacious, immaculate and has outstanding views. The staff were second to none! Very attentive and pleasant and couldn't do enough for us.

Before I arrived I had asked if it was possible to arrange some flowers and chocolates for my wife. Peter had arranged this for me and I was thrilled with what they got us. Peter also placed a DVD player in the room for us as I had enquired about looking at some of our wedding photos we had brought with us on CDs!

The location is brilliant, it is about 1 minutes walk from the town centre where all the bars and restaurants are, and about the same distance to the lake!

Breakfast was brilliant too! I had the cumbrian grill every single day as I couldn't get enough of it. My wife had the different options, which included smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and the lighter option of a poached egg on a crumpet with asparagus and parma ham. The breakfasts went down a treat with us, and even joked about getting early nights so that breakfast would come round sooner so we could eat!

The breakfast room was lovely and we had a table which was very kindly reserved for us each morning (even over the busy weekend), the views from the dining room where also fantastic.

We used the drying room once or twice as we had muddy boots a few days after doing some pleasant walks to Castle Rigg and Castlehead. This is a great little room found underneath the main building. We got the walks from Moot Hall in the town square - these were only 0.95p and they were absolutely brilliant. Easy to follow as we are by no means experienced walkers, and my wife is currently 5 months pregnant yet we got to see some beautiful sites from above looking down on the lake and Keswick.

All in all an absolutely fantastic stay and would (and have) already recommended Lakeside house to family and friends!

We have uploaded a few photos of our stay also!

Thanks to Peter and the team, you should all be very proud of what you have achieved! Well done!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 2 - Super Lux room, fantastic views, very very spacious and very clean!
