“If Carlsberg did B&B's”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

It was our first B&B and it was brilliant. My wife did the research and it was everything we hoped for. The decor, the balcony, the view, the breakfast and the SHOWER! Dave pointed out that naturally high water pressure means no need for a power shower. It's more like a fireman's hose. I'll dream of that shower on cold winter days.... Liz & Dave made us feel very welcome and helped us with maps and taxis etc. They make it look easy but I'm sure there's a lot of hard work that goes into running such a tight ship.
Keswick is a beautiful 15 minute walk if you follow the old railway line past the park and into the town. It has grass tennis courts for public use and a pitch and putt, a putting green, football pitch, kids play area, boating lake and swimming pool.
We will definately go back.
Special thanks to Liz for posting my favourite shirt left in the wardrobe. My wife's fault of course.

We have just come home after a 3 night stay at The Lookout.. WOW...We stayed in room 2 which was perfect .. It was immaculate and so well decorated and presented. ( I now have the paint colour chart from Liz so I can use it at home) It had a small balcony from which we could see Latrigg Fell ( which we climbed after being told it was easy lol) for some maybe!!!!! Dave and Liz have obviously worked very hard to perfect this business and they have certainly succeeded to the highest standards.. We would love to go back but from the bookings we may have to wait a while, Thank you both for a fantastic stay.

We stayed just one night here since despite booking some months ago the bedrooms were all taken. That tells you that this is a well run quality establishment. We were lucky to have bedroom 1 which is the one with the view overlooking Catbells & other mountains as long as the weather is clear. When we stayed, frankly, the weather was awful & rained almost constantly so, sadly, we didn't get much of a view. However, the property has been finished to the highest standard with quality fittings & equipment. The ensuite bathroom has to be seen to be believed. Absolutely huge with nice white suite & large shower cubicle.
The property has a terrace to the rear overlooking a lovely well maintained garden with a pond. The house is about a mile outside of Keswick town centre but is on a main bus route.
The owners, Liz & Dave, are most friendly & have built this B&B based on quality in all things.
We will be back as long as we can get in!

Room Tip: The room with a spectacular view is number 1. Slightly more expensive than the other rooms but well...

So much thought time and effort must have gone into the planning of such a perfect place to stay. Liz and Dave have really gone the extra mile to create very top quality tasteful, relaxing, spacious rooms, with everything at hand that you could possibly need, and more!.
We booked a month ago just a 2 night slot that was the only time available.
Room 1 and 3 have spectacular views at the back of the house, we were in room 2 at the front of the house overlooking the small car park and facing out onto the road, the room was perfect, plenty of room to move around, and comfy chairs, we found it very relaxing on an evening after a days walking. Good size TV and luxury shower room. King size comfy bed, we both had a really good nights sleep.
We took advantage of the fantastic views of the fells at breakfast as the breakfast room is at the rear of the house, also you can sit out on the balcony (that is also situated at the rear) when ever you wish. breakfast was excellent and Dave and Liz do a great job of making your stay perfect.
We can't wait to have a little taste of luxury again.

We booked this b&b for our last trip away before our baby is due.
Having stayed at many 5 star hotels all over the world we were scepticle but we didn't want to travel too far and the reviews and website looked great so we gave it a go and booked room 1 for 3 nights in July 2012.
I would seriously rate this as one of the best rooms ( mini suite really ) we have ever stayed in !
The attention to detail here is amazing.
The views are simply spectacular, the room spotless, a huge bathrom with a seriously powerful shower, lovely toiletries. Furthermore 2 sitting areas and a big bed. We requested normal bedding as my wife is allergic to down, that was no problem. There is a mini fridge with fresh milk, plates, cutlery and all the tea facilities, perfect for bringing back a few fresh scones...
the tv is perfect size and rotates so you can watch it in bed or on the sofa. the huge floor to ceiling double doors open up so you have an even better view. There is plenty of space in the wardrobes and drawers. Lovely fluffy towels and plenty of them. Breakfast is great, lots of choice and local ingredients used. I think this would be perfect for a winters break as well. i would rate this b&b as 95/100, the only thing that they dont provide is robes otherwise it would have been 98/100. an amazing place, and one we will most certainly return to ! My partner and I honeymooned at the Lookout after researching the best bed and breakfast accommodation in the area. We were not disappointed; the room was modern, spacious and clean with stunning views over Keswick and the Cumbrian mountains (room 1). The large bathroom was a perfect place to relax with a soak in the nice deep bath. The breakfast was delicious, the ideal way to start the day looking out over the beautiful garden and hills beyond. We cannot fault the Lookout in any way and would thoroughly recommend it. Would we return? Yes, without a doubt... This was B&B done to the very highest standards. Thank you for a lovely time and making us feel so welcome - Ian & Dawn.

Stayed once before and were so impressed we booked again for our wedding anniversary.
Once again, Liz and Dave made us most welcome, offering good advice on where to eat, etc.
Rooms spotless, breakfast exceptional and stunning sunsets from the room's balcony.
Three glorious days weather was the icing on the cake.
Look forward to staying again soon.
