We were going to have a little look around the shop - but the price for using the car park was a bit confusing. £5 to be refunded at the shop if you buy something?? So we didn't bother.

My husband and I were in the 3rd group to do the new Via Feratta extreme that opened earlier this month. We really had no idea what to expect but thought that it might be a bit tame. We were extremely plesantly surprised to discover that that for non climbers this is an experience well worth doing.
The height exposure is quite severe and a few of the moves are a bit challenging. The bridge and cargo net specifically were more challenging than expected. But at all times you feel extremely secure as you are attached to a safety line by 2 carabinas.

The entire trip takes about 3 hours so can easily be included in a days activity and for those less adventurous there is a mine tour, shop and numerous hiking trails to do in the area.

We joined this tour after taking the breathtaking trip over the pass and the views and stopping at the slate mine to take a look. I love slate and they have an array of things in ther shop. They are a little pricey but we bought something to support them. Sadly the guy who owned it was killed in a helicopter crash not far away but the rest of the family are keeping the place going and at only £10 for the tour i tink it was a bargin as well as supporting a local employer. We booked on the trip by phone as on rainy days the trip is booked up very quickly. All the staff that we came across were great but I cant comment on the cafe as we did have anything.

Even if you downt do the tour then please go visit and maybe buy a little something to support this employer.

My husband and I enjoyed are visit here. There are a variety of tours you can do and activities to try. We did the basic honister tour into the mine. It was really interesting. Our tour guide Roland was very knowledgeable and really added to the experience. At only 10 pounds per person this was great value. Opportunies for climbing, traversing a very long rope bridge etc are also available which look fun. Great views of the valley to be had.
