Lovely hideaway, very convenient for town centre and amenities pubs, cafes, shops etc. Beautifully renovated, comfortable beds, well equipped and some lovely attention to detail (good books for walks, .. )
We found local parking at a pound a day. At beginning and end of our stay we drove into the market place.
The best thing however was Lynn, excellent host and absolutely fantastic when I lost my phone inside the sofa and she posted it to save us a 3 hr return trip up the M6!.
The cottage was perfect, in great condition with lots of little extras to ensure a relaxing stay. Great location too with plenty of shops, cafes and pubs nearby. We would absolutely recommend this cottage, the whole family loved it!
We had a lovely family weekend (family of four, two children aged 5 and 7) at this warm and welcoming holiday home. All necessities were provided in the apartment - with a charming attention to detail.
The apartment is located at the heart of the Kendal market square and yet perfectly quiet. Shops, the market, restaurants, and take-outs are all in walking distance and Kendal was a good starting point for discovering the Lake District.
We'd definitely recommend this place for a short weekend break or a longer vacation.
A very comfortable cottage.Central part of Kendal, without any noise. So easy to get to visit places in the "Lake District" with an efficient bus and train service close by.We couldn't fault a thing with our accommodation and wouldn't hesitate booking a further visit here in the future.Thank you Lynn for making our stay very pleasurable. Kindest Regards Allan and Tina.
We spent a long weekend in this comfortable little cottage. The beds were very comfortable (a rare thing in a rented cottage) and the kitchen was well equipped. There was milk, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and even mint cake waiting for us when we arrived.
Kendal is a lovely historic town with lots of useful shops and places to eat, but still very quiet at night. We arrived too late to take advantage of the shopping centre parking, and there was a fair on the free parking, but as the shops were closed we could park briefly in the market square to unload and then park in the library car park a couple of minutes walk away. We bought a 3 day parking pass which allowed us to use council car parks throughout the lake district.
We had a lovely time and will definitely try to come back!
Very central location, well equipped kitchen with little extras which are helpful when travelling lightly. Very comfortable beds.
Overall we were happy with our stay. We had our 4 year old and 1 year old with us. We had no trouble parking in the free car park, only a couple of minutes walk away, so this was no issue for us.
The only small thing I would mention is a couple of stair gates for the top and bottom of the stairs would be highly recommended. Our 1 year old got quite frustrated not being able to move about freely and the stairs are steep and wooden so could be a nasty fall. A freezer would also be handy but appreciate it's a small property. Overall, nice and clean and welcoming.
