One of the best cottages I’ve stayed in . Clean, fresh, cosy , well equipped . Lovely welcome gifts on arrival . A good supply of logs etc for the log burner , dvd’s , games ... everything you could need was provided . A good base for exploring parts of the Lake District .
This cottage is a real gem. Cosy and welcoming, it had everything we needed for our weekend away. Despite its handy proximity to Kendal, the surrounding area was quiet with very little traffic noise. The parking permit provided meant we were never more than a few steps away from the front door. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels instantly homely, this is the perfect place to stay.
Had a wonderful stay and I'm very grateful for the well thought out bits and pieces that make it homely. Plus on arrival having the welcome gifts made the journey we'll worthwhile. Kendal is great but actually we spent most of our time in the cottage as it's somewhere I could easily live. The bed is very comfy and the whole place was very clean. I would definitely like to stay again.
We had a lovely stay in Kendal and the cottage was perfect, it felt just like home and Christine had thought of everything. The rooms were warm and cosy and had been decorated for Christmas, which was a lovely touch. The location was ideal for visiting the lakes. We would love to come back!
Well, what more could one ask for in a holiday home? By the end of our few days in Kendal my partner and I didn't want to leave! We could quite happily live here as this place has everything you could need and more.
This is a very attractive cottage in an idyllic setting, with easy access to the centre of Kendal and local tourist attractions such as Kendal Castle (all within walking distance).
The owner Christine was very helpful with the arrival information and other details she sent me via email, prior to our stay. She also provided us with answers to queries we had during our visit.
On arrival we were first struck by the log fire, which we would become very familiar with by the end (we upheld safe fire-lighting practices at all times though, of course). All the decor looked nice and homely, the kitchen was spotless and the aromas around the house from the scented diffusers just added to the lovely atmosphere. Bottles of beer and water and a bottle of wine were tantalisingly laid out on the kitchen table for us.
Over the course of the next few days this was our home. After the trips into town for necessities like food and drink, and also the usual touristy excursions you would expect with being in the Lake District, we always looked forward to coming back to our home. We would get the fire going again and again and snuggle up in front of it, whilst watching the TV or a DVD.
The bed was also very comfortable, which for me was a huge bonus as I often have trouble sleeping.
Cutlery, crockery, cleaning utensils, central heating, washing machine, refrigerator/freezer, bath/shower, spare toilet, this place had it all. Any instructions needed were all in the paperwork in the cottage.
Would love to come here again.
This lovely cottage has everything you could need for a holiday including things you might have forgotten! Kendal itself has lots of restaurants and good real ale bars. If you want to go walking or just want to meander around the Lakes' towns the cottage is a great place to stay. The owner has mixed the old and the modern to create a beautiful and practical place to stay.
