Surprised to see how busy this place was when we arrived just before 10am for breakfast, midweek. The breakfast baps with egg, sausage and bacon were delicious and it was presented with care and attention to detail. I liked the ambiance and relaxed atmosphere. We actually stayed for over a couple of hours and the place soon filled up. It's in a great location if you are arriving or leaving the Lakes and fancied a refreshment stop with free parking. There is also the added bonus of a farm shop as well. The 2 girls that run the place couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.

We visited for a light lunch and very much enjoyed our Brie grape and chutney generous bap
This was followed by irrisistable fruit flapjack which was bursting with fruit. The premises were extremely pleasant and clean. There was also a lovely far shop adjoining

This café and farm shop are located right on the very edge of the lake district national park by the Plumgarth roundabout just north of Kendal. There is an on site car park and so if you want a spot of lunch without the difficulty of parking in Kendal this place offers an easy alternative. For those driving to the high fells this place makes for an easy quick food stop. Unfortunately there is not a good view of the fells from the site, it is such a shame to be so close but not see it. The café, being associated with the livestock farm means the available menu items tend to be rather meaty and so there is not such a good choice for the vegetarian. Despite these gripes I felt the good quality of the food and ample portions served by the sisters along with their personable touch gave the place a welcoming charm. It also appears very clean. There are a couple of sofas and a stove, while the rest of the seating is for two to four people at chairs and tables.

The café provided free WiFi and the service was very good. There was a good range of tea and coffee options. It did feel a little on the pricy side but I would happily eat here again if feeling indulgent. My tip is that this place has a great location for the traveller who wishes to stop off on the way to the lakes for food but does not want to waste time parking and walking in town.

This small cafe is spotless. Only a few tables and limited menu. However, the service is prompt and friendly. The food is local and very fresh. It is cooked to perfection. A bowl of hearty soup is a complete meal - but seeing the enormous slices of home baked cakes etc can encourage over indulgence! We are locals who have tried most nearby places to eat, but the simplicity, cleanliness, quality of food and service mean we will go back again and again.

Traveling from The Lakes and looking for a place to stop we turned into Plumgarths farm shop and The 2 Sisters Restaurant is at the back. Nice to see a clean and bright restaurant and the service was friendly and helpful. Simple food (panini, sandwiches, quiche etc) but really well done, great portions and the cakes were magnificent. The Delicious Afternoon teas are spectacular. I will be going back.
