The atmosphere of the old dairy is lovely - there are no scratched Ikea tables here and the floor is uneven because that's the way the old slates and cobbles were laid hundreds of years ago... So the building itself is something special.
The service is very good and staffed by Kendal College students. The food is also very nice and quite lavish, although the menu is small (e.g. "you can have this, or this, for a starter") and changes nightly.
The only downside to this wonderful place is the fact it has no parking, isn't in the centre of town (but across the bridge from it) and the price for a set evening meal is quite high.
I heard great things about the 'cafe' style set up here during the day, but I have only been for an evening meal.
