It rained when we visited Levens Hall but it was still lovely to walk around the amazing gardens. The house is cozy and very interesting...especially the fact that the family still live there. Lovely cafe and shop.

For a National Trust home it didn,t seem too expensive and there is plenty to see and do . The cafe on site is also very good with home made food .

Thank you for your recent review of Levens Hall. Just to avoid any future confusion both for yourself and those people that will no doubt read your review, Levens Hall isn't a National Trust property and is actually privately owned. It is only a small observation but we know that some people specifically set out to visit private houses as well as visit National Trust properties so it is always a good idea to set the record straight.

Kind regards

Richard Bagot

Visited at 1200. House opens at this time. Gardens were very special. House lovely aswell. How nice to visit a place where there are no keep off the grass signs and you are allowed to walk freely. The house is also very relaxed. The staff are very friendly and not at all pompous, NT take note. Restaurant was quite large with a good selection of food and snacks, seating inside and out. You can visit the gardens alone or both. If you buy the garden ticket you can always buy a house ticket later at the door. Children were free under 16. Ps everything apart from entrance to house on a level and the garden serviced by good pathways.

This house is world renowned for its topiary gardens, but the house itself can provide a very interesting hour or two. Interesting artefacts in every room with some fascinating royal connections and breathtaking decor.

It was a bit rainy, but still able to enjoy the gardens. Well worth the money. Trees and gardens remind me of Alice in Wonderland landscape. The house was well run. The restaurant on site provided very good food.
