Went with family there during Easter Holiday 2013. I was told by person in tourist office, Grange over sands, that the hall was worth a visit. I must admit that the gardens, and the topiary style cutting of the plants, is magnificent; we were 4 adults and 4 children and all enjoyed wandering around the gardens, taking nice pictures; it was cold but not wet: it was a really interesting afternoon. Also the labyrinth at the end of the garden and the playing area for the kids were really nice.
Inside the hall we were attended by really helpful ladies' Stuarts with nice smiles and a lot of information about the place. The children could get changed and dress like princesses and princes. They loved it. We are Italians, we have great gardens in Italy, but this place in Cumbria was extraordinary: well done! and thank you!
