Stayed for 2 nights, the location is excellent and its not too far to walk to Kendal Castle. The town is lovely with lots of shops.
Had dinner at The Alexander pub, which is on the property, the lamb was a bit rough and beware if you ask for a hot chocolate, it's literally a glass of chocolate sauce - quite sickly. Breakfast was lovely & had everything to could think of. The lunch in the lounge was a bit sparse, and the sandwiches were a let down.
I would say its essential to book any beauty treatments well in advance, as I was disappointed that during 3 days, the could just fit me in for 1hr, and it wasn't a convenient time.

Room Tip: Room 255, was at the back and looked over a woodland. It was nice & quiet.

The place was busy coping with a large wedding party and another large function besides Satuday-night guests. Despite this they gave iindividual attention, dealt effectively and patiently with a query which involved a phone call and a walk over to the other side of the hotel and back. The food was very well prepared, hot and profesionally served.
At breakfast, at the busiest time, a new member of staff was being unobtrusively supervised and when he made a minor mistake in setting up a table the table was stripped and set out from scratch. The hotel has high standards.
Room (158) looked recently decorated, was clean and quiet. Rooms at the back look out onto a steeply rising bank. Rooms at the fron have the views.

Room Tip: 158 was very quiet. Front rooms have the views.

The deal was unbelievable and great value. I cannot praise the staff too highly. I absolutely endorse and recommend the hotel. The restaurant menu was inspired and for the price of £26 for 3 courses it could not be beaten

Just stayed for second time on a short break at this Hotel. The staff could not be more helpful and respond quickly to any request. The food has been really good on both occasions with superb presentation. Small but good pool and steam room area.
Spent a day walking 5/10 mins by car away at Scout Scar the views here are excellent and on a clear day breathtaking worth googling this walk if you are staying here.
The Hotel is rather too far to walk into Kendal at night (high heels!!) but only a 5 min taxi ride.
We will certainly be returning for another quick stay in the future.

Room Tip: If you are a Best Western member request upgrade if one is available we've been lucky both times but have travelled mid week.
