Only by chance did we nip in to this establishment, on our way to Wetherspoons!
Glad we did, a good value, generous wholesome meal just what as required before the Princess Ida performance at the town hall. Very clean and excellent service from an enchanting waitress, nothing to much trouble with a lovely smile!

We decided to try Pumpkins after finding it on TA. We had a long journey to Kendal, with two young children and wanted somewhere child friendly with nice food, but not too pricey and we weren't disappointed. Staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant and toilets were very clean. I ordered steak pie with chips and veg, my partner had mediterranean chicken and the kids egg and chips and ham tagliatelle. All dishes were generous, home cooked and tasty and the bill was a pleasant surprise, much cheaper than pizza express the previous night.

Ate here with family during Half Term week. Busy, but staff still managed to make everyone welcome. Menu choices very good as were the "Specials". Did not have to wait too long for a table and the food was cooked to order, and was very good. Game pie very tasty and a nice selection of veg made this just a bit different from the usual offerings. Ample portions too.

Whilst visiting Kendal again and needing a quick lunch, I decided to leave chance out of the equation and went for a tried and tested safe bet eating at Pumpkins. As I was in a rush, I skipped the starter and explained to the staff I was running short on time but despite this, they managed to deliver a delicious plate of steak and kidney pie (obviously home made) and some nice chunky chips and a selection of veg on the side. I was expecting it to be a tall order in the time given but yet again, they went above and beyond expectations! well done.
