Another perfect stay. The room was perfect, clean and well-stocked. Staff perfect, generous, and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious, substantial, and a great start for the day. Agree that the buffet-style is easier and faster for guests, but the staff was super nice either way. Note: no car so no parking issues. Used the local buses and train to visit all nearby towns and attractions. This is the best place to stay in Kendal!

We arrived on the Saturday 6th Oct little bit surprised we had to pay £5 to park the car, anyway as usual the room was cosy and nice and clean. On Sunday morning the breakfast was continental buffet and the cooked breakfast was buffet and it was a lovely breakfast. However Monday was so much different the two waitresses were rushed of there feet and so stressed out because it was not a buffet for cooked breakfast it was waiter service and o boy what a shambles it was, the waitress were showing people to there tables as well as replenishing the continental taking breakfast orders and clearing the tables. We waited half hour before our order was taken for our cooked breakfast, and when we got it, it was cold as was the supposedly hot water out of these stupid flasks which did not keep the water hot. My tip to fellow travellers if the Wakefield arms adjoining premier inn are not offering buffet cooked breakfast i would go elsewhere.

We often stay in Premier Inns - you know what you will get. We got what we expected, more or less. The room was too hot without A/C and too cold with … so we opened the window and as we were above the front door I was kept awake by late returning revellers.
The car park is not owned by the hotel so it's used by non-residents and there is a charge at all times; £2 for 2 hours or £5 for 24 hours - so not expensive. Despite warnings on this site, we managed to park for the duration of our stay.
The worst part of the hotel is the Wakefield Arms restaurant. Breakfast was very poor. The 'hot' buffet was often empty. There was a general lack of crockery and cutlery and a lack of staff to do anything about it. Tables were left uncleared. It really seemed that the staff who were there at breakfast were engaged in other activities. There are many good places to eat in Kendal, so just go out for a decent breakfast and don't waste £9.50 on this place.

We had gone up to Scotland for a week and we had decided to split our journey up by stopping off in Kendal for the night.

We had booked 2 family rooms as there was 2 adults and 4 children. Prior to arriving I had contacted reception and they were able to allocate us adjoining rooms.

On arrival the staff were fantastic and had our cards ready as we had already checked in online. Both rooms were clean and tidy, with beds made up and fresh towels.

Overall we were super pleased with our rooms and we highly recommend the restaurant next door. Looking forward to returning to Kendal in the near future to check out the history.
