Service was terrible. Unfriendly staff that only grunted when we ordered and paid. The woman virtually threw our food at us and dropped all my chips down my husband. Lunches were served on chopping boards so not hygenic at all and food expensive for what we got. All in all not a good place and wouldnt recommend.

Stayed very close by during the week from 24th to the 31st August.

First dined here on the 25th and returned a further twice as it was so good.

As they state they are children, and doggy friendly providing blankets for the dogs and toys for the kids.

Whether you are sitting outside or in the service is friendly, fast and above all the food is excellent.

A rare night out without the children. We really enjoyed the meal. Great choices on the menu, something for everyone. An enjoyable selection on the cheeseboard of both crackers and cheese- the chutney was delicious. We would definitely recommend The Gateway Inn to all.
It was a traditional pub, could do with redecoration, but this did not spoil our night.
For those with children visiting in daylight hours- there are outdoor games stored in the porch area for them to use in the grounds.
Thanks for a great night out.

We had 3 courses in this great pub, the service was really slow but we didn't mind because there was a good buzz in the place and we would have only had a few drinks after our meal anyway

I would recommend the chicken and ribs-brilliant!

Having a need to stay in the Lakes once a month with work I found myself booked into a soulless corporate box nearby, that didn't even have food or a bar, on venturing out to eat I was pointed towards the Gateway, and now am staying here on every trip to the Lakes.

The food is fantastic, the views amazing, the service top notch and the rooms very comfortable, and all for such a good value price!
