Booked in advance for a Sunday during happy hour, whilst on holiday as a friend had recommended it. As we walked in we were met with a very grumpy rude guy at the bar who declared - we are not open until 5.30, and pointed us toward the bar to wait. Rest of the staff seemed lovely though. Hubby, I and my two sons 15 and 17 enjoyed what we thought were lovely meals. My eldest and I had the most beautiful tuna & sweetcorn pizzas, hubby had a pasta which was fab, and my youngest son paid extra to have a meat topped pizza including chorizo, salami, ham etc. We all really enjoyed it but afterward my youngest developed food poisoning. We went through all the foods we had, what differed, what was the same and can pinpoint this meal. Two days later he is still suffering and we have lost two days of our hols, and watched our son go to hell and back. Won't be returning. Ever.

Thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant, we are glad that you were generally happy with your visit. That is correct, we do open at 5.30pm and have an adjoining bar where customers are welcome to wait.
However, we are concerned at your accusation of food poisoning. We have not had any complaints of food poisoning, and we would have expected such a serious issue to have been reported to us for investigation. You do not state whether you have visited a doctors, I would hope you have confirmation that it is food poisoning rather than a stomach bug or other illness, as allegations such as this are potentially very damaging.
I would be grateful if you could contact the restaurant to let us know when you dined to enable to investigate your complaint thoroughly.

We were visiting Kendal for the weekend and were looking for somewhere to eat on a Friday night at 8pm. We walked past this restaurant, which is obviously popular because it looked fairly full from the outside, and thought we'd give it a try. Luckily, we were given a table straight away by the window and served really quickly. The food was very fresh, hot and generous and I would not hesitate to recommend it. The only slight down side was that - as it was so busy with families - it was very noisy and lively and you could hear the music from the bar next door. Having said that it was Friday night and a bit of atmosphere is to be expected.

Great value for money. Went during happy hour. Worked out at £13 per head for 2 courses and drinks.

Quality of food was very good. Not true authentic Italian but a definite class above chains and imitation italian.

Ice cream was very good!M

Service excellent.

We had a really tasty lunch here-even our granddaughter enjoyed her meal (12 years). The staff were very friendly and the service was ok. we were not hurried at all and had a leisurely meal. The restaurant is very pleasant and we will definitely go back when in Kendal.

Visited during happy hour. Plenty of options to choose from. Fast service. We were seated straight away even though we had not booked. The only fault was the music was too loud but this was turned down eventually. Great place to go.
