“Excellent foods & beers”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

This is probably my favourite pub in the Lake District as it is almost like walking into a beer festival, up to 16 different beers mainly locally sourced including those brewed on the premises, friendly and knowledgeable staff and well presented good value locally sourced food served all day, we called in on Sunday teatime and struggled to get a table. Can't wait to return, they also have an number of letting rooms so you don't have the hassle of transport, although a bus stop is just outside.

“A Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed July 26, 2014 via mobile

Read about the Watermill while looking up breweries/micro breweries. It's tucked away in the village of Ing 2 miles outside Windemere. A beautiful country location and a very warm welcome from all staff. There is a lovely outside seating area and inside is friendly and cosy. They have a large selection of drinks as well as their own ales, which are really something! The menu was basic but everything is homemade from scratch and of a very high standard!! As regular visitors to the lakes, we will no doubt be paying the Watermill another visit!

“Roadside inn”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

Dog-friendly roadside pub, with accommodation. Wide range of ales brewed on the premises, with guests from other Cumbrian breweries. Good food available throughout the day. No TV for those who prefer their drinks and food without whatever the day's sporting event is balring in the background. Pleasant outside seating area to rear of pub.

“Picturesque pub with great food”
Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

Found this place on the Internet so made it easier to locate! Looks great outside & authentic inside. x2 bars The Smithy (no dogs) & The River bar (very dog friendly), also seating outside at front and rear. Own brewed real ales, great starters, mains and puds. Recommend the King prawn curry, Beef & Ale pie & Eton Mess. The burgers looked amazing & for the very hungry!! Good portion sizes. Great customer service, very efficient. Parking can be a little tricky! Definitely worth a visit!

“Child-friendly pub”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

I've had lunch here many times. This visit was with my son-in-law and 3-year-old granddaughter. The lunch menu is varied and reasonably priced including, for example, pene pasta for children. The brewed on-site beers are excellent and can be sampled (3 x one-third pint) in driver-friendly quantities.
