“A lovely located cottage with lake district charm”

We enjoyed our stay at Grizedale cottage it was brilliantly located close to Hawkshead and Ambleside. It is a five minute walk to the fantastic Outgate Inn which offers a cosy atmosphere and great food. In addition it is a mile from the Drunken Duck which again is a fantastic pub.
The cottage itself has good parking and has lovely views over the field from the main window.
When we arrived it was quite cold but with a combination of the log burner which we loved and the heating it became super cosy.
The cottage has a lovely kitchen with everything you need. The bathroom was a bit small which was a little bit tricky as you had to navigate around the toilet to get into the shower.
But overall was ok.
The property does look tired in places and could use some TLC but it is a great base for touring the lakes.
The cottage was great to stay in and we did enjoy our time there spent mainly reading with the log burner on.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. We will be giving the cottage the usual TLC over the quieter winter months.

“Nice retreat in Outgate.”
Reviewed July 5, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Nice little 1 bedroom apartment with off road parking and a local pub just down the lane(very short walk)

Albeit surroundings very idillic and apartment has everyting except wifi, decor somewhat dated and tired looking. Other than that very happy with the stay and owners left running notes to get supplies and food deleivered if needed.

We visited the Lakes to meet up with friends who were based in Grasmere. The property was easy to find, though there was a delay in receiving the final instructions and we received them on the way to the Lakes.
The facilities were what was needed with a comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and excellent shower. There is no internet access and very little phone reception, so not a place to visit if you require these. Otherwise it is in a great position with easy access to Hawkshead and Ambleside. Great venue for cycling trips.

“A lovely place to rest after an adventurous day”
Reviewed October 14, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary weekend and this place was just perfect! Lots of walks, pubs and little villages to visit in the area. The best thing was definitely the log fire, it was a bit cold when we got there but it was very easy to chuck some logs on the fire and the cottage warmed up in no time! A very peaceful, relaxing and beautiful get away, we loved it!
