Parking here was about £7 for all day - a little pricey perhaps.

There was also a map of the walking routes to buy which cost £1.50. This was a very basic guide, and certainly could not be relied upon for navigation.

With the recent snow, rather than taking on the challenge of the Old Man of Coniston, we tackled the 10+ mile 'green' posted circular forest walk. This was excellent, and there were great views along the way. The only slight negative, was that you had to make a best guess occasionally to ensure you were on the right path. This was because some of the guide posts were a little too far spread out.

The cafe at the visitor centre had really nice coffee and fresh coffee cake to finish off though!

We parked the car at the visitor centre (Expensive!), made use of the café facilities (Very good) and did a circular walk up through the forest. (Sunny and thoroughly enjoyable)

From doing nature walks, Biking and Go Ape you wont have a boring day. I've been at all ages and always enjoyed it. Make sure to go on some of the walks and take a picnic for the perfect day.
