“Great cake!”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

Good value for money, lovely moist cake and a proper size slice! Coffee's pretty good too. I'm only marking this one down to 4 star because its pretty cramped inside and service is a touch rustic. None the less we'll be back for more some time soon I hope.

“Great cake and good value”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

Went there today, the cake was one of the best cakes i've ever had, nice big portions too, so big that me and my boyfriend had to share a slice! The tea was lovely too, only downside is the size of the place, but it's the only compromise if you want great cake and atmosphere.

“Oooh cake!!!!!”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

So everywhere else had stopped serving food when we bumped into this liitle gem.

We ordered food, Creole chicken bites with chips, bites ? two drumsticks and a breast, awesome! nice chips and a salad drizzled with balsamic, great simple food.

Then there is cake, these are epic in size and epic in portion, do not miss them, do eat them, be prepared to be very full !

Oh the tea, as in drink, tein a pot with a strainer, just as tea should be!

A great meal with great staff in a great location, what more could you ask for? look them up just next door to the Sun Inn.

“Cake & tea”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

Wonderful cake and tea. Slice sizes are massive enough for two really. Scones were well coked and lovely and soft on the inside.

“over priced and cold.”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

First impression from outside looked OK but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. On reading the menu I decided to order home made pie chips and peas and specifically asked if the chips were real chips to which I was told they were real chips, which is what I would expect for £9.95. However when the food came the chips were obviously frozen ones (you know the ones that stick in your throat and don't have any taste) I know things are more expensive in the lake district and have eaten in many different places whilst stopping here and the quality of food in other places has been far superior. I had to keep my coat on throughout as there was no heating on and it was very cold.
