We spent three days with our two dogs at Lake View right at the start of November and we have nothing but praise for everything about it. The breakfast was excellent and the Garden Suite was really warm and comfy. (We never saw the badgers that live in the garden but one night my wife saw a full-grown dog fox standing just outside our window looking straight at her!) One thing I didn't know before we arrived was that residents can fish Grasmere if they so wish because Michelle and her husband have fishing rights on the lake. This could prove to be interesting on further visits as Grasmere contains some monster pike! There are a number of pubs in the village that are dog friendly...Tweedies Bar,The Red Lion and the Swan and all provide good food. Grasmere is a beautiful village and the surrounding fells...maybe not the highest but most certainly some of the best in Lakeland.. are a joy to climb. We had a wonderful time here and it was all too quickly over but we will certainly return, as I said in my title...what a treat!

Very welcoming and dog friendly. Wonderful breakfast that set us up for the day. Excellent location tucked away with a short walk down to the lake from the hotel and views across the lake, yet only yards from the centre of Grasmere. Plenty of choice in places to eat in Grasmere and easily accessible to lots of walks of varying degrees of difficulty. Really enjoyed the walk right around the lake. On a short break we didn't really need to use the car at all. We ate at the Potting Shed - very friendly and good food and The Swan. The Swan had a good atmosphere with helpful staff that was slightly let down by the food.

Had recent two night stay with our 3 dogs to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary.Stayed in Fellside suite which is a lovely comfortable home from home location with stunning views. Spent two lovely days walking with dogs and enjoying the beautiful place that Grasmere is. Steve and Michelle owners of LakeView cannot do enough to make you feel at home and fabulous hosts. Very accommodating and flexible also as had to babysit our three dogs when emergency visit to dentist on Saturday evening was required for my wife . Nothing too much trouble despite our guilt and incontinence accidents by our dogs!.Also as reviews before stated lovely breakfast to start the day. Cannot find any faults with accommodation and with its ideal close proximity to some great pubs and restaurants which also so dog friendly we cannot wait to return in the near future for sure.

Wev were glad that you enjoyed spending your anniversary at Lake View ,despite your trip to the hospital. We were glad to be able to help out and the little accidents! were only in our room so no trouble.Thank you for the nice comments about our breakfasts as it's the most important meal of the day when you run a B&B ,without that you have nothing.
Hope to se you both again.,

An absolutely fantastic stay! We enjoyed a wonderful room with a beautiful view onto the fell. Very welcoming and friendly owners, who took great interest in our proposed activities whilst in Grasmere. Michelle offered helpful advice on local walks and good places to eat (and drink)! Very tasty breakfast, and very friendly dog in residence too!

Would happily recommend to others, and would hope to stay again ourselves!

We would be very happy to go back to this property, which is really the strongest endorsement one can give. The property is ideally situated, being very close to the attractive little village and to all of the main treks from Grasmere. We found Michelle very welcoming and the breakfast superb. We are not dog people at all but were thoroughly charmed by Bock, Michelle's non-barking, non-smelling Spaniel.

I cleverly left some clothing behind and without any fuss, Michelle bundled up the items and posted them to our next port of call, which was very much appreciated.

In all, we highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: We only saw inside the Lake Room. It was slightly dearer than the others but was very well appointe...

Enjoyed our one night stay with kids and dog in the Garden Suite. Great for our needs with a separate small sitting room with sofa bed and view of the garden. Very welcoming to us and our dog. Great breakfast. Lovely walks right from the front door.

Having all our needs within walking distance was a bonus given the poor weather at the time of our visit. While the semi rural location and extra space in the lakeside suite was well appreciated by my brother and I, we were disappointed with a no show of the 'special award winning' breakfast as advertised on the website and included in the information package in our room. Only a basic breakfast offering given by the employee. We were also astounded by the cost of the laundry service which was twice the price than expected based on other similiar places stayed - we should have asked the price before using the service. We could not query this invoiced cost on departure as neither Michelle nor Stephen were available at the time. Such costs should be noted either verbally or in the information package.

Thank you Noelene for your comments on your stay with us and was very pleases that you liked the Fellside Suite but was quite suprised /disappointed to read your comments about our breakfast . We offer 3 kinds of fruit, including two typesof home made fruit compote and yoghurt along with 4 choices of cereal and a dried fruit mixture, with a selection of nuts and seeds. We also offer a traditional full English cooked breakfast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or eggs cooked to your liking. You could also have a vegetarian cooked option with croissants, brioche and pancakes with honey. This is as you said, served by Camille and Stephen would have seen you in the dining as we always make a point of going into the dining room after we have finished cooking ,to talk to everyone ,so can only assume that you didn't get time to tell him how you felt.which is a shame as maybe we could have offered you something different during your 3 day stay.
I am sorry that you feel what we offer is not what you expected and I would invite you to send me a personnal email so I may find out if there was something that you think that we should be offering as this may be of help for our future guests. Our award is given to us from the Visit Britain organisation and its criteiria is for quailty of produce, choice on offer and the presentation of food.
As for the laundry, there was quite a substantial amount of clothing and whilst we don't usually do laundry on a regular basis, I am quite happy to do it as I recognise that it is difficult for people who are travelling long distances and feel that what we charged is no more that the price of an average bottle of wine, which I don't think is unreasonable, given the convennience.
Unfortunately,Stephen nor I were available at the time you left and so if you do email me,please be kind enough to let me know what you think that you should have been charged.
I am a little upset to think I that you weren't totally happy with your stay and can only apologise for that.
