We spent three days with our two dogs at Lake View right at the start of November and we have nothing but praise for everything about it. The breakfast was excellent and the Garden Suite was really warm and comfy. (We never saw the badgers that live in the garden but one night my wife saw a full-grown dog fox standing just outside our window looking straight at her!) One thing I didn't know before we arrived was that residents can fish Grasmere if they so wish because Michelle and her husband have fishing rights on the lake. This could prove to be interesting on further visits as Grasmere contains some monster pike! There are a number of pubs in the village that are dog friendly...Tweedies Bar,The Red Lion and the Swan and all provide good food. Grasmere is a beautiful village and the surrounding fells...maybe not the highest but most certainly some of the best in Lakeland.. are a joy to climb. We had a wonderful time here and it was all too quickly over but we will certainly return, as I said in my title...what a treat!
