The place to go for a short-ish walk from Grasmere -been there, done that, loads of times. But my daughter hadn't so off we went ...in the rain. However the thing about rain is that it fills up the streams and so the waterfalls up to Easedale were amazing. Good leg-stretcher for kids, great hot chocolate afterwards in the village....

A family favourite which delivers great water and fell views from such a relatively short walk. You can take your time or hammer up and down in 90 minutes but longer walks are an option if you venture beyond the tarn and keep climbing.

We love Easdale Tarn it is just a perfect walk with a lovely Tarn at the top. Would suit most walkers as it is safe walking and not too hard

The first time we tried to climb this it was getting dark on a January afternoon and the ice made it too dangerous, but this time on a sunny Saturday afternoon it was perfect. The walk to the top takes about an hour but there are gorgeous views all the way up, so keep going! If you can carry it take a blanket or something to the tarn and sit and have a rest by the water.
